Working from Chrome Version 66.0.3359.139 64-bit, on desktop (Win 10). Refresh did not work, but clicking the racing icon again set things right. Just a weird fluke.
Just entered CT, and I can barely take a step in any direction. It's painfully slow for some reason, and at points it's unresponsive. Others on chat confirm that they are also experiencing the lag.
Personally, working from Firefox on Win 7. Php3
EDIT: Seems to be back to normal now, with occasional bumps. Not sure if it's worth looking into or not.
Great thread idea. I've been bothered about this for awhile as well.
I get it - I'm a writer, and I know it takes hell to get people to pay attention to the work you do. Having the highlight is a brilliant way to get headlines noticed.
On the other hand, it's a little like getting junk mail through the letterbox IRL. Nobody is forcing you to look at it, no, but there aren't many people out there who like being spammed by it, regardless.
