Immediate suggestions that come to mind are variations on your sorting templates… I would love to use this (and have installed it, though debating whether the alphabetical sorting would kill me). This is due to the way I have my display case set up is alphabetically by category while splitting each category into “useful” and “not useful” subcategories to maintain any stock that I may need to withdraw from my storage locker of a display case is at the top.

Now, I know getting that particular setup would at minimum take trial and error and would largely be naught but a waste of time for anyone except myself, but putting together a button to sort the items as you would see in the item market by major category then alphabetically would be a good addition. Maybe setting up a “pin” toggle could be a simple solution for what I outlined.

i tend to sort my bazaar in the same fashion with a slight alteration, due to multiple pieces of equipment of the same type, of going by category (customized to shift the equipment to the bottom of the bazaar above my anchor items), then alphabetically, then by quality for the equipment itself.

I’m going to play with this a bit, but my initial impressions are good, I like the layout you went with for sure!

She did that well before she posted this; she outright said she’s just trying to provide a lesson about faction management. She used the real Torn World events as an example of how people learn lessons the hard way.

Honestly, it’s a lesson we all learn eventually, and it’s much better to learn it the easy way.

as someone who has purposefully burned almost every relationship bridge he has in the last couple of years I can understand the loneliness that comes with no one you know being readily available. But you made a good move, bringing the party to your torn family.

I’ve made lifelong friends out of other gamers I met online, hell, I’m currently living with a couple of them helping them cover their rent and take care of my 5 god kids after having been in their wedding a decade ago.

you never know where you’ll meet the most meaningful people, or have the greatest experience. Regardless though, cheers to another year of your existence on this cosmic marble. Hopefully the coming year sees you prosper!

Rather than focusing on a single item I have always striven to gather one of each of the tradable items, I once liquidated the majority of my display case for faction needs, but it has since been built back up far beyond where it was. I am still working on organizing it properly though, and unfortunately still missing a fair few collectibles, a few of the yearly masks, plus a couple other rare clothing pieces and some other random odds and ends.

there was a late run horse race last night, which was apparently moved from one of the side tracks at Saratoga to the main track at the last minute. This track change prompted the addition of new horses which was not reflected on the bookie page prior to the race. The newly added horses weren’t added in to the Bookie UI until the payouts were made. As such Coach Ryan, who placed second, should have been the winner on the Torn Bookie, as there was no opportunity for betting on the added horses and these horses should not be included in the Torn Bookie tabulation, i.e. treating them as non-existent. The horses that were not available to be bet on at all were Manor Park and Professor Proton. At least for me, had they been available to place bets on, the bet I had on Coach Ryan would have been reduced by $180m with a $75m bet on Professor Proton and a $105m bet placed on Manor Park.

Are you talking about the Torn City app or TornPDA? I ask because generally I would agree the Torn City app was never great, better to play on your phones browser. Though I recently installed that app to see if it had any improvements I haven’t booted it up at all. PDA is good though.

If your loyalty can be bought it isn’t loyalty at all. Period. Anyone with that mindset will always jump ship for more pay. I know others have said that, but it bears repeating until people understand it.

I read through a few responses, they are pretty much all on point. Now, as someone who has been playing for 20 years and knows the pain of trying to chain while you’re not at home as a faction leader during the old system when smart phones were more or less brand new… mobile is phenomenal. I don’t get in PC much anymore, as I don’t war or do much more than train, crimes, and NPCs at the moment (I’m just too busy) but access to torn through a basic browser still exists, and TornPDA was and is a game changer. I believe there is an older more official torn app as well but you’ll want TornPDA.

So let me explain. If you’re an active player, constantly online with a desk job that lets you monitor while you work and do things you could probably skip it. However, even in that instance where you can setup browser plugins and use whichever script manager you want to modify things, TornPDA still has many of those features either built in or available through scripts. It is a little slower at times, and nothing is ever perfect, but getting push notifications for events, messages, attacks, cooldowns, or for when NPC fights are about to start plus myriad other fully customizable options even sitting at a desk is amazing. Would I recommend Mobile over desktop? Never. You’re going to have a better, more stable, and easier time doing nigh on anything on desktop. But mobile bridges the gap and does it fantastically with TornPDA for anyone who is out in the field (like me) for work, or constantly on the move, or even just between home and work.

TLDR:

PROS -

• Ease of use

• Native script management.

• Native notifications.

• Customizable interfaces and Torn layouts.

• Browser tabs able to be pinned and bookmarks able to be set.

• Native customizable Items quick use menu.

• Native revive request functionality.

• full integration with both TornStats and YATA as well as a few other major external sites

.. I could probably continue listing things but it’s all fairly customizable and user friendly.

CONS -

• Limited browser caching (I.e. if I go into my display case and scroll down too fast or spend too much time adding things to my bazaar the changes the page can potentially refresh itself discarding any un-saved listing or changes).

• Potentially unstable and / or slower connection. Basically you’re at the mercy of whatever WiFi is available or your network, I’m sure we’ve all been stuck somewhere with zero service where by all rights you would expect to find a signal. Plus, it is inherently going to provide less network throughput as phones cannot match the technical specs of a PC, depending on value of both obviously.

• Data wipes concerning scripts and customizations. I am listing this as I have lost my scripts more than once on TornPDA. There have since been methods to prevent this put in place and the issue I believe has been resolved regardless, but as I stated earlier, nothing is perfect.

I cant think of much more than that off hand, especially nothing that hasn’t been stated before. It’s a useful tool. But it won’t replace your desktop for serious play. For convenience though, it can’t be beat.

I haven’t played my entire 20 years constantly active, but I have been active on and off with the most recent stint of activity lasting the last decade give or take with daily logins.
