Torn city, perhaps synonymous with Sin City, should have a more interactive 'Crimes' feature. It's based off your nerve bar, which is one of the main features on the sidebar, and there are corresponding tentacles within merits, company bonuses, point uses and more. Even though there is a wide variety of crimes to choose from, why limit ourselves to pointless grinding. Everyone has a theory, look under the bridge 500 times to start, go steal 3000 jackets, then do some armed robberies and so on or whatever the particular combination.
What if crimes were more interactive? What if crimes directly impacted other players and/or privately owned companies. Instead of stealing a random jacket from a text box and selling it for 500$ in a bazaar or on the market, what if a player was annoying you and you started specifically targeting his business, stealing HIS jackets from his store stock. What if your faction was at war, and instead of just stacking xanax, popping vicadin and getting 100 chains for respect, you could use your nerve bar to hit an income source, like a job where the director is in the company. Steal from their stash, steal their stock, wreck their break room...
Think of the impact of maybe even being able to affect that job's stars and get the members less Job Points per day until they fix whatever you damaged, or replace whatever you stole?
Perhaps adding a new section to the Crimes section, one where there are 4 different crimes per Job type, generic crimes, where one crime steals a random item from stock, another damages efficiency, etc.
Stealing from stock could be a low nerve cost crime, perhaps 4-5 nerve, and the crimes would increase in cost respectively. Instead of just RNG police catching you, incorporate purchasable Job security systems or theft protection which can put you in jail or cause happiness loss, etc.
I realize this is a complex idea, and would take a significant amount of detail and fine tuning, but as some food for thought... I just feel we should have more use for our Nerve bar, especially in this city of crime and warring factions.
Well, there are many 1 star, junky companies, and even 5 star versions of say a furniture store will not be equal to an oil rig. Perhaps a difficulty system associated with low end vs high end companies would be good.
