I am generally a nice person and when I don't have much to lose, I like to trust others to do the right thing. So naturally, when a player [1775785] asked for a 10 Million dollar loan in the trade chat, that he was going to pay back I just sent him 5 Million, no questions asked, and simply waited to see what would happen. The day came when his bank investment was supposed to come out and, sadly, he didn't contact me. A few days later I decided to remind him that he still had outstanding debt, to which he replied that his Bank Investment had not yet finished. I knew that instant, that unfortunately this guy had let me down. Over the next few days I simply (in a nice way) reminded him that he owed me money...
Unfortunately, he did not feel the need to reply. This made me angry since, in my opinion, if you are going to screw somebody over, you should at least stand by it. So I asked him to either pay his debt, or simply tell me that he did not plan on paying his debt back. He took this to mean that now he could insultingly tell me to f**k off, which I found anything but nice. So I did what any reasonable Torn Player would do. I sold all my points and proceeded to bounty him.
For about 3 days he kept telling me how great my bounties were and he was getting sooo many defends (I counted them through his stats: 3 in total) so I felt even better knowing that while I was getting my revenge, I was also doing good! One day he told me that he had 50 Million in assets and I should just stop bountying him, because he would end up on the winning side in the end. Again I did what any other Torn Player would do and swiftly replied that I had 100,000,000 in assets that I would use to bounty him.
This amazed him, so he asked me how I made my money. I replied (not thinking he would take me seriously) that I had an item which payed me 200,000 every time I placed a bounty and that I made my cash placing bounties on level 1s (so I get 190,000 each bounty). This was meant to also imply (jokingly) that I made money from placing bounties on him. Surprisingly, he bought this and asked me where I got such an item. I was baffled, but decided to play along. I told him I had won it off of the Torn Facebook Page, and that the item was in fact comprised of 10 special shares from the stock market that could not be bought separately, and each share gave you 20k per bounty (so I get a total of 200k).
To my amazement, he not only believed me, but had no idea there was a stock market or how it worked. He did, however, ask me if I would be willing to sell him 2 of my shares. It is here were I saw my chance! I asked him to purchase a stock ticker so we could trade these special shares, and offered me 2 Million and his complete armor set. I bought two shares of Big Als Gunshop and started the trade.
Here, I expected him to notice. I thought he would grow suspicious what the price of the two shares concerned or something like that. But no, he simply accepted the trade!
Anyway, after this (in my opinion) amusing story, what should I do with his stuff. He already noticed that he has been scammed (Dude, I can purchase 4000 of these shares from the market?!) and asked for his items back. Should I do it?
Not a loan scam I never expected to get payed back. I just like to see what happens when you trust people. It was his disrespect that I found less than amusing... And I only took the chance because he was asking to get robbed. If you think I did wrong, vote "Yes" in the Poll and if most people want me too ill return them...
While certainly one of the more aggressive suggestions I really like it. I know already that he wont be able to pay the 10x the bounty, but if I sell his stuff that would be 15 Million, which would equal 100 bounties around his current level. I doubt he will stick around that long...
The thing is that the starter missions basically encourage you to visit 100's of locations clicking the city link without end. So the risk of falling ill to radiation poisoning are further increased
I just gave the items away. He is currently offline for a couple of days. If he thinks Ill forget about him though he is dead wrong. The second he logs back on I will resume the bounties.
Well he never resorted to racist or homophobic remarks if that is what you mean. He was actually quite politically correct. I think only once he commented on my mother. Not sure exactly what though...

The way I see it, he advertised that he needed a loan that he would pay back. I sent him the money, fully aware that it was up to him to decide if he wanted to pay me back or not. Just because I was aware of this, doesn't make him less of a scammer...
Edit: I don't consider myself less of a scammer either. I made a promise that I did not keep. Now I wanted the masses to decide whether or not I should return his items.
