I'm having a problem with some incoming/outgoing mail spontaneously having symbols appear in them . As near as I can tell, this started around the 5th of September. I open my mailbox as usual, and find some incoming mail has odd symbols in the msgs, or I write a msg and everything appears ok to me, but when I look at the msg after sending I see odd symbols. Others say they receive my msgs with the odd symbols in them. I use Firefox, and I haven't made any changes to anything. These symbols ( the letters br within <> brackets, or a black diamond with a white ? inside) appear between sentences, and sometimes appear to take the place of punctuation at the end of some sentences. Other times my incoming and outgoing mail is normal.

Hi. Today I clicked on my Friends List and discovered that there were no friends listed. Not sure when this happened, but I had noticed yesterday (Jan21) that none of my friends were online whenever I was logged in; prior to that it seemed to be ok. I use Windows Vista, and Firefox. I tried using IE to see if it was the same there, but as soon as I clicked on my Friends List it bounced me out of TC ( I tried several times, and each time it bounced me out of TC).

I am VERY sorry to hear that. : ( It is not a good idea that deleting them in chat deletes them from the Friends List also. I suspect that the majority of people would not see, nor understand, that there'd necessarily be any connection between those things. If the connection between both lists can't be eliminated, then it should be made very clear that deleting them from the chat thing also deletes them from your Friend's List. Had I been aware that was the case, I'd certainly have left the chat thing alone. Now I've lost my list of 5+ yrs of friends made in this game. : ( : ( That chat thing has been an annoyance to me from Day 1 it appeared; I was only trying to get rid of as much of it as possible.

Hmm, yes, I did that probably 2 weeks or more ago ( deleting chat tabs people because I hate that chat thing) but I didn't delete ALL of my friends from it, only some. Also, I still see three names of friends on the chat thing (People you know-recent) , but they don't appear on my friends list.
If that was the case, I should have noticed around that time that my friends list was empty, but I hadn't noticed all friends were gone until the day I reported the problem.

So where do we go now? Is my friends list irrecoverable?

When I try to see my Friends List, all it says is :


You currently have 0/50 friends on your list. 100 people have you added to their friends list.



You do not have any friends at the moment. Add a friend first.

My Enemies List is fine.

That does seem to be true for the the br letters within brackets appearing at the end of sentences.
That may also explain why a question mark within a black diamond sometimes appears between words in some sentences; I may have accidentally made two spaces between those words .

Although I never use it, I tried to log in with IE, but each time I as soon as I logged in and tried to go to my mailbox, it bumped me out of the game. So I can't say if other browsers also have the same problem.
