I use books to teach myself programming a lot as it's a fast, fun and easy way to learn the languages I need to learn to go out and make a career in my field(web development). I originally had taken a class and taught myself by using the W3Schools web site which was overall a very good experience in teaching myself HTML 5 and CSS for my intro to web development. After I completed my class I bought my first book which had lots of bright and colorful examples that took me step by step through a set of codes to make great pages.
I was curious if anyone else used books to learn. If not you should as they are very helpful. Especially if your learning languages like JavaScript. The book I have has over 30 different examples that I can very easily build off of and use in my own web pages. I can't wait to save up some more money and get a few more books that I have had my eye on.
I am currently enrolled in college and going to obtain my degree in Computer Science. I am going to learn languages such as C++ to learn to input commands into computers. I have taken online classes such as Computer Literacy and Web Development for my first Semester.
I have aspired to become a Programmer but I am also interested in Web Development. I am a person who loves seeing results right away when I work on something and due to that reason have done really well using HTML5 and CSS3. I'm not sure what you can do with C++ and languages that go hand in hand with that one.
What can you do with C++?
Would I be better off with making my major Web one that focuses on Web Development instead of Programming?
I am currently working hard to create my own video game encyclopedia site. I am currently enrolled in college and have taken a web development class that has helped me greatly in achieving my goal of having my own working site. I wish that this site could take the information from 100 different sites and mash them all into 1 super site. I want to document information on Video games, accessories, books, characters, news stories, history, and much much more.
I currently do not have a name for this site and do not plan to put it online until the beginning of 2016. I plan on having thousands of pictures and web pages each built from the ground up by my own two hands and using my own research of HTML 5 coding along with CSS3.
I have been a gamer since the age of 3 when I started playing Atari 2600. I have been a collector for over 5 years and although I had to sell my collection due to financial issues, I am going to start collecting again with my son and sister. I plan to document each accessory I buy on my site.
I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas that I could play around with and see if they work for me. I believe I have thought of everything but I'm sure there is more. Any ideas that I could use would be greatly appreciated.
I recently ran into a bit of financial issues and had to sell my 2500 plus video game collection. I only got 1100 for everything and am a little saddened by this. Now I get to restart my collection with my son however, which makes me very happy once I pay off and catch up on bills. Holiday time has been hard on my own personal money what with credit cards and whatnot. I feel happy to be able to rebuild completely with family.
Has anyone else had to sell of a collection that they had due to economical stress? How many games did you accumilate during your collecting years? Will you ever start again?

I am a very good pro at Factions and used to run a very powerful and successful one back when I had my older account before I restarted. I had a Iphone 5C and loved it. I had ATaT for it and was paying 110 a month for only 3 Gs however. The service sometimes refused to work and was slow in certain spots in the house. When a new plan came out the new plan was 60 bucks and I was still paying the 110. I did love the easy OS that it used and how everything had a place I could easily get to.
I now recently bought a HTC Desire and it's even better. It works faster, there is no contract, and I only pay 60 bucks per month and there is no scare of going over data. If I go over it just works a little slower. Did I mention the phone is loads bigger and louder?. Sadly it isn't a sleek blue color like the 5C but I can deal with that while saving 50 bucks a month.
It took me a little bit(like a few days) to find everything on the HTC but now that I know what I'm doing it's so much better. I don't think I'm cooler for not buying a Iphone....but I do think they are over rated for being the "best" and working "less". I will never buy a Iphone ever again. I think I'll stick with Android from now on.
I was actually hoping to get into a area that would let me build and design sites from the ground up....almost like starter sites for companies that are just going online if there is such a thing. I figured I learn it first and worry about the job and career thing later since I have a few years to do that.

I would go with a Laptop. Notebooks are great for traveling...however, they hold less data, are less powerful, and are much smaller and slower. Some Notebooks don't even have a disc drive which means you'd have to buy a $100 or more external one and carry that around with you as well if your going to be using discs.
I would never buy a Notebook compared to a Laptop let alone one for college.

I hope to God that they are not eliminating the keyboard alltogether. I hate the idea of going all touch screen. I am interested in touch screen don't get me wrong, but I still like my mouse and keyboard the best.
