I've been a member of this community for well over 10 years now, and I've seen first-hand what this place can do when people get behind someone. I've watched people achieve incredible things because a community believed in them, so I thought I'd swallow my pride and share something that's become a huge part of my life.
For the last couple of years, alongside work and everything else life throws at you, I've been writing and producing a feature film called No Gentle Goodnight - It started as just an idea. Then a script. Then somehow it kept growing.
Now we've got an amazing cast, a brilliant crew, locations, sponsors, industry professionals giving up their time because they believe in it, and a project that has gathered far more momentum than I ever imagined. We even made a trailer with virtually no budget, simply to prove to ourselves and others that we could actually pull this off.
The film is something I'm incredibly proud of. It's dark, emotional and, I hope, powerful. Beneath the thriller elements it's really about men's mental health, grief and the things we don't always talk about. It's the kind of film I wish I'd seen years ago.
The crazy thing is... we're so close.
We're not looking for millions. We just need that final push to complete our equipment list and cover the last few production costs before we can begin principal photography.
The hardest part hasn't been writing the script or building the team. It's been getting people to actually stop for five minutes and look at what we've created. I genuinely believe we've got something special here, but without contacts or a big name attached, it's difficult to get through those doors.
I'm not posting this to ask anyone to empty their wallets. If anything, I'm asking for belief. If anyone has experience in independent filmmaking, knows someone who backs grassroots films, has contacts in the industry, or even just fancies watching our trailer and giving an honest opinion, I'd love to hear from you.
I've spent over a decade enjoying this community, and I know there are some incredibly talented and well-connected people here. You never know where one conversation might lead.

Went to play wheel of awesome but ended up being kicked in the throat before i had even clicked which wheel? It cost no money but i was hospitalized. It let me play again and gave me 100 points ( I assumed it would land on Kicked in throat)

Is it possible to start a faction and associated companies from the ground up? Or will it die before its even established?
i know many people would advise against it due to the relative cost of advancement and the availability/achievability of ready made companies and factions but if you had the time and energy and 20 years could you do it?
