Who is this "someone" that keeps attacking me? "Someone" = a cloaked/stealthed player; most likely "someone" isn't the same person (like if you get multiple "someone" mugged/attacked you event messages)
Why do they stealth? Most players stealth attack to attempt to avoid bounties and other forms of retaliation when you see their name attacked you or mugged you. There is an honor associated with obtaining 100 stealth attacks too that someone might be working on.
Why are they stealthed? Most likely the "someone" has a much higher DEX stat than you do; the higher your DEX stat, the more likely you'll know the ID of your attacker; I think there are exceptions to this, like much higher amounts of other stats I think will also result in a stealth attack.
How do I stealth attack? You attack players that have less DEX than yourself. Most likely in the early days of playing Torn that'll be players at a lower level than you. Ex: if you're a level 5 new player and attack a fellow new player at level 1 you'll most likely get a stealth attack (although not always, it depends on their stats).
How do I reveal who the someones are? To help reveal the "someones" more often start taking education classes that increase your gym gains in DEX and give you passive DEX gain, a great program to work through is the Psychology classes. There are also education classes that decrease an opponent's stealth like the Biology class Forensic Science. You can also spend merit points to increase your passive DEX, but I know most players would recommend spending those merit points on other things...but its your choice. Most importantly though is to train your stats at the gym too!
Can a company job help me? Yes! There are some jobs that reduce an opponent's stealth like a hair salon or a music store (or if you want a guaranteed stealth attack yourself work at a theater).
Can stealth attacks be turned on/off? Yes! Some really confident players turn off their stealth; they want you to know who attacked them! (if you don't want retaliations make sure you have the setting of "use stealth whenever possible" turned on in your attack settings)
What about bounties from someone? Bounties can be made anonymous by paying extra money to make a bounty anonymous. Players will do this for similar reasons to a stealth attack: they don't want retaliation. If you work at a cyber cafe with 7 stars you can do an "IP trace" special to reveal the name of the someone that's bountying you or hire a player in the forum that advertises to do this service for you...but they'll want a fairly hefty fee for noob players.
What else can be stealthed? Players can opt to send money and items anonymously. If a player completes the Bachelor of Computer Science you can also send mail anonymously.
Whats the advantage of learning the name of my attackers? Well in the short run, probably not a lot since they're most likely still stronger than you as a whole, but not always...depending on your finances you can also bounty them, if you're in a faction you could ask other stronger faction members to attack the person for you, and/or you can keep a list in your event log of the unstealthed attackers and retaliate when you're stronger. Is there any other way to reveal a someone? I had this probably rare event happen to me once: a high level player attacked me but he was interrupted by another player while attacking me, and he was hospitalized before I died. My event log revealed the name of my attacker and the name of the person who attacked him. I know there's no way I had enough DEX to see my attackers name on my own, and I don't know any other events that will trigger a player name reveal like this. Id be curious for other players input on either my event or if there are others.
Will attacks and mugs by someone ever go away? In short, most likely no. There will most likely always be players stronger than you that can stealth attack you. The best things you can do is guard against the worst parts of stealth attacks by buying medical supplies to med out of the hospital when left on the street or hospitalized and hiding your money from muggers. With a lot of hard work you can reduce the amount of stealth attacks and defend some of them off, but someones are a fact of life when playing Torn. I get attacked by someone all the time, and all the other players in Torn that aren't crazy powerful do too.

2) Shoot ourselves in the foot during an incoming attack (Russian Roulette)
3) Get hospitalized mostly any other way which I am currently aware of during an incoming attack; failing a crime with a hospitalization result, for example
4) Hop on a plane during an incoming attack

Words to the Wise- Advice for Brand New Players on Someone:
- There is a player that is level holding named Someone. This is not the someone that is attacking you (most likely), and this person is much, much stronger than level 1 (in fact, more like level 81). You will most likely lose if you attempt to attack the player named Someone.
- I don't recommend wasting your time trying to play detective and figuring out the identity of a someone. I've read some forum posts that give some vague ideas, but the reality is there's just no way to tell on your own. Accept that someone got you for now and move on to ensure someone doesn't always get the best of you.
- Being in a faction at a young age will guarantee a lot of "someones" will hospitalize you because they're higher level faction members pummeling you for respect points; so be cautious of joining a faction too soon!
