I'm fairly new to Torn, been playing a bit over a month. What I'm about to ask is probably answered somewhere on the forums, but I haven't been able to find a clear answer. I understand quite clearly the use of multiple accounts for cheating, but what about a person using multiple accounts for legitimate play? If an individual had no intention of sending themselves money, items, etc, and actually played the other accounts, is this still against the rules of Torn? I mean, I would like to play the game with different "paths"... Enhance the immersion, I guess. I've played other MMOs and inevitably I become interested in playing a new character with a different skill set. Is honest use of multiple accounts by one person legitimate in Torn City?

Takes time to do build a character up to so that, and missions would assist. What crawled up your ass anyway? I'm simply mentioning how a feature that makes up a good portion of the game has been absent for a while now. You've obviously played for quite some time, and no doubt there was more to the game during your time spent. I have not, and would like to be able to play the game in its entirety, as you did. You seem like someone who will wake up, walk to the nearest wall, and kick it as hard as you can to stub your toe, thereby giving yourself the green flag to act like a petulant little child. Your hostility was never called for, but it's okay. There's always that one a*****e in the crowd. Your input has been acknowledged, don't worry. You needn't provide any more. Cheers.
Lots to do? Such as? New players can train, do crimes, which can be done in less than 5 minutes. Buying and selling to make money, then wasting said money isn't my idea of fun on their own... Education courses take weeks. There's IRC but I didn't come here for that. Oh! Then there's scouring the map for items! Almost forgot that one. And new players can't really fight anybody... Please tell me about this awesome stuff I'm missing out on since I'm not playing this game at all, apparently.
Not to sound like a broken record, but... Missions. I wish there was something for new players to do...
Exactly. All of what you said. I was beginning to think that nobody would dare consider to play this in different styles without cheating.
That's straight-up cheating.
Anybody else notice how playing Torn via mobile browser is smoother than the mobile app?
I actually assumed there are male players posing as female for that sort of reason, and I guess it's not the worst idea, heh. It would certainly keep things interesting. By the by, does anybody know what is going on with the missions situation? Perhaps there is some info I missed. I'd really love to dive into this game instead of building a character just to buy/sell merch and fight.
I wouldn't want another account for the purpose of playing it any differently than my original one. Part of why I ask is because missions are unavailable, and have been so for a while from what I have read. I mainly go to the gym and do crimes when I log on, and after that there isn't much to do, so it would be nice to spend that time I would have used doing missions building up another character. I feel like it would enhance the roleplay aspect, and it sucks when you suddenly run out of casino tokens as well. On the other hand, I see how it is kind of unfair for one to play slots on more than one account since you increase your chances of hitting the jackpot...
Do I have a lot of time on my hands? Sort of. I play Torn quite a bit on mobile when I'm at work, so sometimes when I get home I've already done my trading/dump-searching/gambling/training and there's not much to do until energy and nerve replenish. I've never played an MMO that restricted you to one character, and I get that this is a different beast, but unless missions become available, the brick wall is hit fairly quickly.
I have to say, that's pretty disappointing, but I can understand... Somewhat.

Favorite item? Or maybe a customizable hotbar...
Shiggity shiggity Shwa what you did today
Isn't that the 'no server available to handle the request' error? I got that earlier going to the gym...
I would be fine if they actually were updating Torn. Not that they aren't, I obviously don't know for certain, but I'm one of the new guys stuck with no missions, and from what I've read, its been this way for a long time.
Just got a 502 posting that last entry....,,
Something that has happened to me a lot lately is with Slots... It's not unusual anymore for the slots to spin indefinitely. Every now and then it just spins about 3x longer then finally stops, but in the past couple days, a few times, I've had them spinning for at least 5 minutes or so until I just decide to force close the app.
Also, poker (at least on Android). Poker cannot load due to Flash issues... Is there a workaround?
I agree. I don't care whose idea it was originally, it's a good idea I hope Ched will consider implementing.
I have some issues on mobile, but I think since I almost always play on mobile I'm used to lag here and there. I've got my DPI set pretty low (195 on a Galaxy S3), so the other issues I have are from my own Android settings. Casino games are close to unplayable sometimes but usually okay when I close my other apps.
"Tweaking it might be tweakable, to some extent, though."
*facepalm*
