Last Christmas I bought my missus a gold tennis bracelet . Nothing too fancy, a few hundred dinero, but very shiny. After a rough year something to brighten her up and feel beautiful was what I wanted for give her.
I went to pick up my order at a local jeweler and somewhere along the way home I lost the slender box. I was devastated and searched for hours. Nothing.
The next day I called the police to see if anyone had returned it against all odds. Never did I think anyone would. Never in the city. Nothing was reported and it was all I had for her.
The very next morning a kind soul had turned it in and the 5-0 gave me a call. I have never thanked a pile of cops and an unknown stranger so much in my lifetime. It really saved our Christmas and probably a lot more. Thanks to one generous person out there she absolutely loved the gift. We will never forget it.
Tl;dr: lost a jewelry present and a stranger turned it into the cops. Miracle. Faith in humanity restored.

This is the story of Amandaeezer Scrooge, the worst miser of crime writing in history. Long ago a haggard, greedy author sat on dozens of volumes of Duke Crime Two Point Oh, a very popular serial about a delinquent dashing crime lord and his family. Amandaeezer Scrooge made the entire world wait for years on a cliffhanger ending. No teasers, no trailers, no snippets, no dice. She always wanted more money, holding the ending ransom indefinitely. On one Christmas eve Amandaeezer was visited by three spirited fans of her work begging her to release the next chapter in the series. Old lady Scrooge had them whacked by her past associates and her present publisher. The three ghost fans would haunt the Scrooge family far into the future... where we are today. With no Duke Crimes Two Point Oh released to date her ancestors are still trying to release the cursed works, but to no avail. The world may never know what happened to Duke, the most degenerate generous man of all.
