Status quo is built into every single system ever designed by man or nature. It's inescapable that systems will function how they've always functioned until the input changes.
How do social systems crumble? When they've ossified to the point that they're positively inept at responding to crises/demands of those that function in said system. There's your status quo. Privatized health insurance is crumbling, they cannot continue to show higher and higher profits, quarter after quarter, without extracting the last bit of value from every stakeholder in the enterprise. Don't tell me, "that's how it's always been." f**k that. And f**k the resignation that makes people think like you.
There is a consensus on how to change our approach to healthcare: nationalize it. Like every other industrialized country on this planet.
Furthermore, you don't like what the sociologists have to say regarding Policy Analysis? Okay, maybe it was too verbose for you. Instead of focusing on politicians, they focused on policies over the span of decades. There's a huge difference between the personality cults surrounding partisan patsies and the systematic corruption of national policy-decisions.

With all of the echo-chambers, this is a touchy topic no matter which side of the political spectrum you identify with. But the McCarthy era in the United States set the framework for challenging book's placement in libraries (the number one purchaser of books by volume, nationwide) and it would seem that this cycling of culture wars has returned to us. The targets change (Civil War Perspectives, Communists; LGBT), but the method is the same: censorship. It's a way to chill discourse and alter prevailing narratives.

Sometimes, it's a warranted concern of a parent.
Now I'm a mother in rural New Mexico. I'm an engaged one, too, where neighbors' kids come to gossip and discuss how ludicrous school can be and how their grade-school (former) friend now wears a fox-tail every day. I don't want these kids reading about teen pregnancies or drugs or ****. But I know that they're encountering these stories via social media because they're talking about it. Thus, having these books in a public library available for kids' perusal is the best hands-off approach to touchy topics because of forbearance.
You may agree that these are inappropriate books at the public library for now, but what happens when "inappropriate" includes your beliefs/upbringing/faith?
Toni Morrison put it best:
“[Banning] stuck me as a purist yet elementary kind of censorship designed to appease adults rather than educate children. Amputate the problem, band-aid the solution.”
Hardly irrelevant.
Inconvenient? Sure.
Inconceivable that one state may fund another state's abhorred regime, but hey! the US popularized that tactic during the Marshall Plan and on through Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria. What's the old joke about oxymorons and military intelligence? I know people resent the joke, but this paradox proves its relevance.
Ben-Gurion, one of the lauded leaders out of fledgling Israel, contended that ethnic cleansing was the only way to establish the ethno-state they required in the Near East. Hamas vows to obliterate that ethno-state, but as Ben-Gurion foresaw. They weren't the only two parties in this game and having this back and forth argument between "who is more evil" makes it disingenuous.
This debate isn't intended to resolve anything. I've participated in it for years. It's virtue signaling from either side.

I was making the case for class and self-awareness that labor needs to undergo. Marx was a great critic of capital -- not a problem-solver for its crises. The fact that a few black men/women got corporate jobs does not absolve the way the rest of the underclass is treated in the job market.
I don't see where anything was half true in my opinion. You assigned the lack of good, well-paying jobs to competing with overseas wages. I agree. I simply said that those jobs have been given to temporary, intermittent workforce which was predominately an "affirmative action" role: immigrants and minorities. That's where all of the manufacturing jobs went: sub-par wages and "flexible" positions.
They've undercut the value of labor to buy stocks and speculate on their future worth. Industry has devalued labor to the point that even the white working class needs those same jobs.

I don't think black wealth ever rose to the level of white wealth in the US of A. It's not that black labor started taking more of the collective pie, it's that there's been less to go around. They were never meant to.

The current economic system is so strapped in terms of labor's value that the white working class and the black working class are vying for the same positions. This economic system has been developed this way to ensure continuity of credit. The underclass have served the "flexibility of the workplace" so that certain demographics felt "safe" from the job-loss experiences by the black demographic -- now all jobs have to be flexible (read: temporary/low wage/no benefits) and at-will.
As the system fails to provide gainful employment for a wider swathe of society, the distinctions between race/class are becoming muddled.
Hence why #BlackLivesMatter has a colourful assortment of allies that can now empathize.

I went to report this issue too and felt that this post matched my problem. I am on Firefox on a PC -- but Chrome had that problem via mobile.
The eggs are "falling behind" the boxes/blocks for cascading information like Player Lists (Chrome Mobile) and just now, on the Newspaper. I saw the yellow egg and it vanished as soon as the block for the stock ticker appeared (Firefox/Windows). I was able to recover the player list one in Chrome Mobile (pink egg) down near the very bottom (it originally appeared on the top under the horizontal navigational bar), but was unable to get the yellow egg just now.

The advent of the internet has connected us and with those connections come the cliques; which, ironically, serve to isolate. Where I live, I see the calling cards of the 3% (III, variations on the Punisher icon, the tear drop) and they're active militia members. Some have even caught headlines. I don't think any one clique is well-organized across the nation -- but they do dominate regions.
They're neither good nor bad. Violence plays into the hand of a militarized police and can be a considerable detriment to movements, even if the vast majority practice non-violence.
I see Antifa as a group that are pissed off, just like the 3%. We all have good reason to be pissed.

These negative interests rates translated into inflation as States/Countries went underwater to float debt. Of course they've resorted austerity. Meanwhile, there's a "credit crunch" for the tax-payer that's earning less than what a similar skill did in the 1980s.
That's why social security/medicare are in trouble. So are pensions. The US of A suffers from a contraction in Labor's share as congresscritters pander to ideologies. States (i.e. governments) can't raise taxes because the burden of the cost will fall on voters, already overtaxed. Without a massive jobs plan (infrastructure bill) and putting surplus labor to work with higher wages to alleviate this "credit crunch," the bubble is going to burst.

Fractional Reserve Banking has laid this SS debacle to rest, I won't say much else regarding a solution outside of lifting the income tax cap.
