This is an actual story told by a former worker at an mental institution
There were two people standing outside by the pool one day. Tommy, the first one, decided to jump into the pool and sit at the bottom. Edna, the second person, realizing what was happening, jumped in the pool after tommy and pulled him to safety.
Some of the workers heard what Edna did and began petitioning for her release. She showed strong evidence of being able to take care of not only herself but others as well. She acted as a hero to save one of her peers. Eventual they talked to Edna and told her the news.
"There's good news and bad news" they said, "the good news is, that you acted as a hero and saved one of your peers and as a result, you are able to go home. The bad news is that tommy hung himself today and is no longer with us."
Edna, with a smile on her face said, "Oh, Tommy didn't hang himself. I hung him up there to dry. When can I go home?"
