Well to be fair you did make the mistake of leaving vault share on with someone you didn't know well or for very long i'm going to assume. Hell, i got scammed 4 or 5 months ago by someone i knew when i first started torn and she was utterly cold, manipulative and heartless about it. You simply have to accept your losses and build back up. I lost a 700M PI, So if it's any consolation i'm a bigger idiot than you. But guess what? With my mistake i grew much stronger as a player, settled down in importing and make some great money doing it. My point of the matter is take this experience, learn from it, thus grow from it so you never make the same or similar mistake again of putting yourself in this situation. I wish you luck in gaining your losses back. It's going to be a big climb.

Yes, i was stupid in giving her my PI. But she was one of the few people in knew since i started torn. I was trying to help her as a friend because that's what friends do. But instead she betrayed me with lies and decite and tried to rob me blind. I have screen shots of most of the conversation, at least the part of her getting mad when i didn't trust her then her trying to get my stocks, then blocking me. Yes i was an idiot for trusting her. At this point it isn't even about the PI. It's about her blatanly lying to me and betraying me. Just because this is a crime game doesn't excuse your actions. How you act in this game is who you are as a person. And Cassie is a deciteful, manipulative, lying, immoral person to put it in lack of colorful words.

I just tried to open a bronze chest and suffered the same issue. My CT window went blank and i did not get the chest but still have the key.

Yes, you can find eggs abroad either on the travel screen or once you finally land. It's really just based on luck and timing.
A general trick i've found is when you're abroad or even sitting in TC go through profiles of people on your friends list, recent, or even your enemies to pass time and increase your chances of finding an egg. I hope this tip helps you and anyone else to find an egg or two.
