A. Ideal Education Order
B. Classes to Skip
C. Ways to Reduce Education Time
A. IDEAL EDUCATION ORDER
CLASSES CAN BE TAKEN INDIVIDUALLY AS LONG AS INTRODUCTION IS FINISHED
#1: Biology
-
BIO1340: Introduction to Biochemistry
-
BIO2127: Intravenous Therapy
[image: lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com]
Reasons:
-
Highest number of minutes reduced in hospital per minute of cooldown. Useful for war when medical cooldown can get maxxed out.
-
Blood bags are also cheaper than syrup for medding out.
#2: Sports Science
-
First 5 courses
[image: lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com]
Reasons: Early boost to gym gains in a reasonable timeframe. Stats you’re focused on can be taken first.
Players in a training faction or focused heavily on stat training with expensive training methods should invest the additional time to get the bachelors for the additional 1% gym gains. Other players can move down the list.
#3-4: WAR FOCUSED PLAYERS: Combat Training
[image: lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com]
Reasons: Combat training bachelor’s allows you to unlock weapon EXP, which will take a significant amount of battles to unlock. Get it earlier to begin accumulating EXP.
#3-4: CRIME FOCUSED PLAYERS: Computer Science and Psychology
-
CMT1520

All of Psychology
[image: lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com]
Reasoning: These Computer Science courses will help you farm emails for scamming much later. Psychology course will give a universal 10% Crime Skill and Crime Experience boost.
#5: Finish Sports Science or above courses. Health and Fitness Intro + Stat Boosts (ignore bachelors) or Mathematics
[image: lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com]
Reasoning: Suggestions 1-4 are the most lucrative and generally have opportunity costs. Health and fitness provides good passive battle stats which you will benefit slightly from by this time. Bachelors is relatively useless so you don't need to complete the course.
Mathematics has a useful bachelor as you should own a RW rifle by this point in the game, although the other classes are less useful within the degree.
#6: Your own path
At this point you will know more about the player you want to be and can potentially start on different ways to play the game. Stat % boosts from Self Defense would be a logical next step although at this point you may decide to be a business owner, museum trader, so on.
B. CLASSES TO AVOID EARLY
General Studies: Eats up months of time for very limited work stat gains. Not necessary
Business: 7 months of education to run a low profit company. Not worth it unless you have connections willing to give you director of their company for profit sharing/faction ran.
Law: Ched has gone on record to say busting is an inefficient way to use nerve. Bailing is a waste of money. Busting merits are fun but are a late game achievement. It will take years to max, it shouldn’t be your first year/s.
HIS2160: 10% Damage with Japanese Weapons: Use a rifle. Mods and special ammo beat melee late game.
C. WAYS TO REDUCE EDUCATION TIME:
- Merits: Your first merits should be in education, as you won't have enough money to maximize on bank merits anyway, to start. This provides a 20% bonus to education reduction at 10 merits. Every new to mid player should have these.
- WSU BB/Benefit Block: 1 million shares of WSU will provide you another 10% bonus to education reduction. You must own the stock for 7 days before taking the new course. It will basically charge for 7 days before becoming active. This one is trickier since it costs around 100 million to own, but is a goal you should be working towards.
Because the stock block is useless during the actual course, you might ask people in your faction if you can borrow their block during a longer course they have (particularly the bachelor courses). It's harder to time than the bank BB but worth a shot if your faction has good trust - Torn City Starter Job - Education: Tesla's City Career Fast-Tracking Guide provides more details, but becoming a Principal in the education system provides another 10% boost that you can achieve in the late early game. This is a goal you should be working towards.
- Player Company Perks: Player owned Fitness Centers and Hair Salons both allow you to exchange 1 job point for a half hour of education reduction. A fitness center is the better company at 10 but also more difficult to be employed at due to work stat requirements. Either of these companies at 10 provide a 5 hour reduction every 24 hours which is basically a 20% bonus to reduction (there are better companies for new players than these but it's a method).
- Book of Carols: Book of Carols is an expensive booster item (13-14 million) that will reduce 6 hours of education time and adds a 6 hour booster cooldown. Some "dedicated newbies" might use this item to fast track education but the only time you should ever consider this item is when your education ends after you go to bed and you can save 6 hours plus whatever time you would have wasted while asleep by not entering a new course. It's debatable whether even a 7-12 hour reduction is worth it to a new player with limited cash.
