This is an amazing read.
Also this thread just scammed me out of like 3 hours of my life. So there's that.
Did a doodle for the Elim sig comp and didn't end up finishing it/putting it in - I am putting it here for no other reason than I wanted to put it somewhere and we have no team forum anymore + the comp thread is closed.
Its a little late but if anyone else wants a shitty doodle hmu []

I wish you could still see how many times someone had been married (used to be on their profile). Not for any purpose other than being a nosy **** and finding it at times hilarious.
Being crippled on your ass bones sounds uncomfortable Ducky. Maybe get one of those ring cushions.

Every time theres a word search in the paper and I get people's misdirected messages about it I wish my name was more unique
Incredible :D

I self-fedded my original account because of the time I was at in life and the amount of active time on here was not good for me. I have maintained some of the stronger friendships from Torn but for the most part that level of time playing and being just 'actively involved' is very distant to me now. It's been nice having an account again and playing much more idly though.
I agree that it can be very disruptive to life, much like any game or hobby I guess - I don't think its specific to Torn. Hard-core players or people really involved in all of the interactive features are going to be a part of any game.
I don't know that its fair to say those on here a lot don't have a life as a blanket assumption - maybe its a phase they're in, an escapism, or just a way of having a bunch of cheap fun.
Welcome back, chronic illness sucks.
4.5 years might feel like a long time but goes by in a flash. I started playing in 2007 (before I self-fedded and later restarted) and although I was community active at one point I am now very much in the passive play camp. The periods of intensity and goals etc come and go but I like the familiarity of the game even with all the changes, and changing people, and my own changing life alongside it.
Every day of doing a new thing has the potential to be the first day of a long period of time - so dont let the horrors and futility of time stop you from starting a new 'Day 1' of anything new you want to do... whether its starting to be a bit more into the social stuff on a text-based MMORPG or getting a happy little plant (or as sometimes happens, a sad and struggling plant that you tend to just enough to keep it vaguely alive).
I've been thinking about this post since I read it - not too much to add just that it's good to share these kinds of thoughts when you feel them - and maybe Torn was an easy place to do so for you today (which makes it not the worst place to do that).
This is just a game, a silly game full of both people who can be supportive and people who just want to play whatever their version of playing Torn is... but the people and community on here can be really good sometimes and I hope that you have gotten a bit of support today to make things easier for you.
Hopefully there will come a time when you would look back on this post and feel so far away from this headspace but for now you are keeping going and trying and that's sometimes just enough. Keep going x

Yay, welcome to the club 🦭

Have enjoyed reading through this thread though and thinking of some people I haven't in a while.
Have very fond memories of the TC Radio days - also nice to think of Jewelz today, she was such a sweetheart.

Fave is Everdell, we also play a lot of Splendor, Terraforming Mars, and Lords of Waterdeep - plus all the Garphill Games :)
I knew it! Exciting :)
What I love about the picture is the white circles around the nipples. I have so many questions.
You should send him this picture of me as a Christmas Card this year so he knows you truly appreciate him :)
Aw what's the motter with you mate?
On topic, this post could be an elaborate ploy to try help legitimise OP's "girlfriend". :o
Omg that is otterly disgraceful.
I agree that there are lots of vulnerable people on here but I think it is for that reason that a group of well meaning volunteers is not a good idea. Too much potential for vulnerabilities to be exploited.
This feels like it should all be one thread - easier to keep all the tears in one place surely.
