So today I found out about the Torn API. I love working with APIs so I naturally wanted to see what it could do.

I ended up making this:

This is what I'd like to call "CoreTorn".
It displays all the core things you need, unless I'm mistaken. This client runs in the background and notifies you of when your stat bars are full, when you've been hospitalized, arrested, had a bounty placed on you, and when our life is low. It displays your cash, all four bars, the current Torn City Time, a notification history, and even allows you to minimize just like the Torn chat windows where it hovers just above the taskbar. CoreTorn even has shortcut buttons to the top popular sites in the city, allowing you to instantly access places such as the Item Market and the Gun Store without having to clutter up your bookmarks.

Yes, you could say the DocTorn extension does most of this already. However, in order to use DocTorn, you need Google Chrome and it needs to be running under Google Chrome in the background. If you were unaware, Google Chrome is a bit of a resource hog. If isn't quite a problem on beefier computers, but it does eat up RAM like no one's business. What if you just wanted to have the notifications still make the sound, but not pop up? Or what if you don't use Google Chrome?

If any of those are the case, this is perfect for you.

FAQ:

Q: "How do I log out of CoreTorn?"
A: Press CTRL+R and open the Run window. Type in " %localappdata%TornAPI " (without the quotes) and delete the text file named "apikey.txt".

Q: "How often does this application update it's information?"
A: It updates every 3 seconds.

Q: "How long have you been working on this?"
A: As of first writing this, less than 24 hours. I only started working on it at about 2pm, Sept. 3rd, 2016. I do plan on adding more as time goes on.

If you find any bugs or glitches or have and questions, please post them here!

I've looked around for ways to make Toast notifications (yes that is the official name for them and I am laughing at how it sounds) on Windows, but with not very much luck... I could always just pop the window up a little and show text for the notification just above the taskbar when the client is minimzed.

Also, just a general post here, some known bugs/things I forgot to add:
The client does not constantly check your level. It only checks upon login.
The client does not notify you if you are getting out of a hospital/jail.
The time may sometimes flicker due to the time being used through a different website's API and the data sometimes comes slower than the game updates its display.

I'm also not sure if it is possible to make the client be on top at all times, but if it is possible I'll try to add it asap.

Edit: I will also be changing the update/refresh cooldown to 6 seconds. I just got my API key banned shortly for too many requests.
