Hello, my name is PiU (aka OPIUM) and today I'm pitching you my idea for a company called Bookstores (or a Publishing House)

If this isn't already an idea for an upcoming company, I think it should be. I have not seen any posts of it in the forum or any chats (I checked to make sure I wasn't stealing any ideas/work people are thinking of or doing)

Bookstores should be an addition to the companies in torn and can provide some pretty cool things.

Some of the perks that they could provide (This completely depends on what Chedburn and the other staff think of):

-20 JP: Gain 250 INT (*1)

-15 JP: Get a (Throwable) Book (*3)

Passive: -10% on your education courses (*5)

-1 JP: -30 minutes of education time (*7)

-3650 JP: Get a Random Book (*10)

(^This has been a debatable special on how long it should be, so 3650 will just be the example, and if this becomes considered will solely be on what the devs/staff decide/prefer... Some other ideas were 1200 (4 months), 1500 (150 days), or 3650 (1 year)

The Bookstore is like the starting job "Education" but upgraded as a company, and there aren't any companies like this so I think it would be a nice addition/change to the number of companies in TORN!

I think that the startup cost of a Bookstore could be in the range of 50 million to 75 million due to it's perks. (especially the availability to get books).

Positions:

"Publisher/Writer" - Someone who writes books and articles which will later be published and sold - Makes soft and hard cover books: Primary Stat: 21,000 END Secondary Stat: 12,000 INT

"Editor"- The person who makes final edits to the book/article before it is released/published - increases sales: Primary Stat: 55,000 MAN Secondary Stat: 37,500 INT

"Editor's Assistant" - This is the person who will assist the main/head editors in their final edits and will also help with minor edits: Primary Stat: 52,500 INT Secondary Stat: 27,500 END

"Cleaners" - Cleaners will clean the store and increase the environment and company efficiency (will also make space more appealing to customers): Primary Stat: 25,000 MAN Secondary Stat: 15,000 END

"Manager" - Will look over all staff and increase productivity. Will also take care of day to day needs for the company: Primary Stat: 85,000 END Secondary Stat: 42,500 INT

"Accountant" - Will watch over and take care of all the companies accounts (increase efficiency and improve environment): Primary Stat: 63,000 END Secondary Stat: 25,000 INT

"Marketer/Advertiser" - These people will be involved with the companies Advertising (Will improve company advertising and amount of customers): Primary Stat: 82,500 INT Secondary Stat: 42,500 END

"Clerk" This person will be selling the products to the people (will work behind the counters. Without these your company cant make any money): Primary Stat: 22,500 END Secondary Stat: 12,500 MAN



Simplified Version of Above:

Publisher/Writer - 21,000 END / 12,000 INT

Editor - 55,000 MAN / 37,500 INT

Editor's Assistant - 52,500 INT / 27,500 END

Cleaner - 25,000 MAN / 15,000 END

Manager - 85,000 END / 43,500 INT

Accountant - 63,000 END / 25,000 INT

Marketer/Advertiser - 82,500 / 42,500

Clerk - 22,500 / 12,500

Pop-up Book: Order Cost - $300 RRP - $450



Although this may not seem to be a good idea to some people, I personally like it, where it gives people more chances to get books and increase their INT, so I hope you like it too. If not, I understand, but thank you for your time.

I will not be posting or adding any additional thoughts about certain aspect like company upgrades, because I believe that the Developers and Staff should be the ones to discuss or decide (same goes for Job Point values for each perk)

I have not seen something like this yet, and I looked a bit to make sure I wasn't copying anyone, but I think that there should be an option or button for users that own bazaars, that shows what the current value of their bazaar is. By total value, I mean the price of all the items added together to show the potential profit that your bazaar would make. Currently, the only way to really see the total value is when you are adding the items, so really, the only way to check what the total value is of ALL the items placed in your bazaar, would be to remove them, then re-add them, where it shows the value (as listed below) 2 different ways (when you are adding the items, and when confirming your item placements to your bazaar):

Personally, I would like to have this, as I'm sure many others would, because it would quicken a process that could take a while, and save a lot of time. I'd like to easily be able to check what the total "value" of my bazaar is, whether it is to boast to friends of how much I could make, or just to check to see potential profits when/if items are sold.

An idea on how this could be incorporated, is, it could be added as a small add-on in the "Manage Items" tab, or it could just be at the bottom of the page of your bazaar! (Could even have it's own button? But that seems a little much for such a small, possibly helpful, feature)

Not sure how this happens but it's happened twice in a row now, after I select the choice 'somewhat' when I enter the 'Christmas Wreath' game

This one I just go into the game and everything is all offset for some reason, and has been every time I've played it on computer, not on mobile though. The items, and map list are also weirdly offset under these, didn't have time to take screenshots of those though

I'm on Google Chrome - Windows 10 - haven't checked any other devices or browsers for the Christmas Wreath game

I can try it again on another browser/device when it resets if needed

Not sure if it's a bug but don't know a better place to post about this, but this happened in an attack overseas in South Africa, was wondering if this is a bug or was implemented on purpose, and if so, why? If there is a forum post explaining why this is a thing it would be great to know, thanks :)

I know you can attack offline players that have been offline for thousands of days, but this player has been offline for just 2 weeks, assuming this is an overseas only thing but would be great to know why?

I didn't have any other scripts running (didn't have any scripts last year at all), and the only other extensions i have are doctorn and an adblock. Could either of those have affected it?

I don't have it on for the gingerbread game. Turned it off specifically to see if that was the case -haven't tried that with the wreath one

Small visual error in the points building, where the cool down timer for the energy refill doesn't show up when you tab out of TORN, or even switch tabs - Might be the same for nerve but I don't feel like using points on it...

To recreate:
1. Open points building
2. Use a energy or points refill (If it isn't on CD already...)
3. ALT+Tab or switch to another tab (Need another tab open. Keep the points building tab open)
4. Switch back to the points building tab

I don't hardcore race, been doing it a bit more since all the DB's have been going and can't travel. didn't expect to get it, and wasn't aiming to, but i'm not complaining, 6 hours of hosp time, and 2 parts is worth a free merit!

Also, it doesn't affect your game experience, it just shows you and others what your "priority" or playstyle (alcoholic/nerve would mean more crime oriented)
