Profiting From Roullete: The Comprehensive Guide · · 5 likes

In this guide I will cover an interesting Roulette technique that will help you minimize risks and losses, increase gains/profits, and utilize Roulette as a practical source for daily income. I have personally increased my net-worth from $280M to $709M in under one week utilizing this method alone. Spending 150 casino tokens per day and making over 600 spins this week in total, I'd hardly chalk-up my gains as pure luck although luck does play it's part. Our job, utilizing this guide as our go-to method for playing Roulette, is to let luck work for us and not against us. So we begin:

The Basics

The first thing that a Roulette player should understand is the layout of the wheel in accordance to the betting mechanism of the board. In this guide we will focus on two regions of the board: the 2-1 betting spots on the right side of the board and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 12 betting spots along the bottom.

The reason that we focus on these regions is due our underlying philosophy of minimizing our risks and losses, increasing our gains/profits, and making practical betting decisions as to utilize this game as a source for daily income. Let us say that we were to bet $10M on the 1st 12 and $10M on the 2nd. Because there are 36 numbers; not including 0, we have an approximate 2/3's chance of hitting our 1st or 2nd 12 bets. Since our overall bet is $20M and the payout for a hit is 2:1, we see and overall win on our bet of $30M, $10M of which is our profit. Indeed we technically lost one of our $10M bet placements since our one ball can only hit one slot but, again, since our payout is 2:1, we are paid $20M for a hit on a $10M bet and receive our initial $10M placement back to our bankroll. We ALWAYS want to bet on two spots either in the 2-1 betting region or the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 12 betting region. This betting style gives us the maximum chance of hitting a bet and making a gain.

Understanding the Successful/Unsuccessful Spins Ratio and Win Chances & Betting Big Accordingly

Now that we understand how a 2:1 payout works, we will now move on to understanding our chances of hitting our bets, staying strict to betting on the above stated regions of the board, in accordance to the Successful/Unsuccessful Spins Ratio. The trick here is to minimize our losses to increase our profits which will, in turn, allow Roulette to be a practical source of daily income. The method for achieving this is to bet big when the odds of a hit is working in tandem with our Successful/Unsuccessful Spins Ratio. All this means is that we should only make bigger bets when the Successful/Unsuccessful Spins Ratio is in our favor to hit our next bet.

For instance, my Successful/Unsuccessful Spins Ratio is 1.76. This means that I hit 1.76 times for every miss accrued. Well, doesn't this innately mean that we are guaranteed to profit every time we play Roulette? Not Necessarily and here's why:

I've spun a total of 788 times; 503 of which were "successful" spins and 285 of which were "unsuccessful". Let's say I placed $10M on the 1st and 3rd 12 for every spin for a total bet of $20M per spin. Based on my statistics, I would have won a total of $5.03B and would have lost a total of $5.7B. That's a net loss of nearly $700M total since wins only pay us $10M in profit while losses accrued are $20M per loss.

So then how do we minimize our losses and attempt to ensure a net gain? We play and bet big in accordance with our ratio. The trick here is to only bet $10; not $10M, when the ratio of Successful/Unsuccessful spins is NOT in our favor. We want to use a standard assumed ratio of 1.5 wins to 1 loss regardless of our ratio. What this does is limit our ego getting carried away by assuming the 2/3's chance of hitting a bet that our bet placement assumes us according to the math. We use our underestimated 1.5 ratio to hedge the risks associated with assuming a 2.0 (2/3's) ratio that our bet placement on the board assumes.

Say that we start fresh for the day with 75 casino tokens and plan to refill them for a total of 150 spins for the day. Let's assume that we start out of the gates with a $20M total bet placement on the 1st and 3rd 12. Let's say we win for a total win of $30M and a profit of $10M. What we should then do is STOP and not get carried away. We now take the $10 chips and resume the same betting scheme until we lose. It is only when we lose that we should assume that the next spin is a win. Since we assume a 1.5 ratio, playing big bets immediately following a loss assumes a 1 ratio and can increase our confidence that the big bet immediately following a loss will indeed be a win. Again, as before we took a desired loss of $20 to follow up on a big win for a profit of $10M, we want to follow up a win of a $10M profit with our small betting scheme of $10 per placement.

HOWEVER, here's where we need to stick in accordance with our 1.5 ratio: Similar to how you can flip tails 10 times in a row in a 100 flip duration of heads and tails, you can win or lose for a period at a rate that is anomalous to the ratio. Although the rate may be anomalous for a period, it will inevitably normalize at some point again in the future. Let's say that we bet big and win and begin to follow up with small bets. Let's also say that we go on a winning streak on our small bets and we are 7 successful spins into our streak. The method here is to keep spinning on small bets until we lose. Not only that, we want to see multiple losses that temporarily go against the norm of our ratio yet in the long-run are normalizing back to the long-term ratio. We'd be looking for 2 or 3 losses in a row or 2 or 3 losses every other win on our small bets before we decided to follow up a loss with a big bet again. What this does is maintain that we are betting in accordance with our ratio. If you are going to spin 150 times for the day and you've won 36 times and lost 11 times and, assuming our latest spin was the 11th loss, we go on a streak of 9 wins, we would be looking to bet small until the losses accrued get to 15 to 17 losses and our losses normalize back toward out ratio of 1.5. The worst thing we could possibly do in the case of a 9 streak of successful spins is to bet big for that 10th win because, if we were to lose, we'd lose $20M. Losing $20M while you're only up $30M for the day would be a critical hit in your overall prospective performance and take home gains. If this unhealthy practice hits you hard enough, you will walk away with a net loss for the day like I have.

CONCLUSION

With this guide, you can make Roulette a very practical method for bringing in bigger daily incomes. Make sure you stay diligent to this guide and refuse to make the mistake of betting big twice in a row (unless it is in accordance with the ratio) or betting on an anomalous streak. I hope that this guide has helped you gain an increased understanding of Roulette and it's tricky system of profiting and losing. If this guide has helped you or you have any feedback or suggestions, please comment below. If it has indeed helped you I would love for you all to post your latest take-home winnings below. Good luck and happy gambling![]

Suggestion: "Investment Banking Firm" Company · · 8 likes

My suggestion is that a new type of player-owned company, Investment Banking Firm, be incorporated into the game.

Hear me out. What if players could go to a player-owned investment banking firm and have another Torn City player, and the members of his/her company, invest their money in the Torn City Stock Market? Or, what if someone who wished to start a company would like to dodge the use of a loan-shark and sell off a portion of his/her company for start-up capital?

Player owned investment banks could sway the economy of Torn City immensely and could even help other companies/players do the same by generating market activity through the abundance of funds created. More funds generated by companies and more funds in the pockets of players would increase the economic activity and venture of Torn City (not that there is any lack of economic activity at the moment).

Without further ado, let us get into the mechanics of this hypothetical "Investment Banking Firm":

How it Works

Income Mechanics

The player-owned investment bank would take on two forms of interacting with the residents of Torn City. The first method would be to take the funds of players and invest these funds into the Torn City Stock Market and/or Bank. Should the investment bank make good investing decisions and generate positive returns, the client would receive their funds back minus any fees and performance bonuses to be paid to the investment bank. All players that apply to have their money managed will have their applications sent anonymously and will be anonymous clients upon the accepting of their client-application. Investments would range from 14 to 90 days. Player's money could be invested individually or in a pool of multiple players' funds.

The second method would be venture capitalism. A player wishes to receive an investment from a player-owned investment bank for the start-up or operation of their business and in exchange sells a portion of their company to the investment bank. The investment bank, based on the percentage of their ownership, would directly receive that percentage of the daily PROFITS of said company. Please note that the earnings due back to the investment bank would be based on a percentage of the PROFITS and not a percentage of the overall revenue of the company. This method could easily be implemented and would take the devs implementing a system for calculating overhead vs operating profit. Simply, company income minus overhead costs; EXCLUDING WAGES PAID TO EMPLOYEES.

Of course how could we forget our imaginary citizens of Torn City? Based on the amount of player-money managed by the investment bank and the returns on these investments, investment banks would also receive computer/NPC investors. The more money managed and the higher the return, the more computer/NPC clients that an investment bank would receive. These NPC clients would factor in silently to the performance and income of the investment bank. NPC clients would not contribute any additional money to be used for the purchase of additional stocks or venture capital investments. Furthermore, as a player-client would owe the investment bank fees and performance bonuses in exchange for the services of said investment bank, the NPC clients would also pay these customs. All NPC clients would invest a similar amount of money. The fees and bonuses paid back to the investment bank would be calculated every two-weeks and a new round of NPC investing would start and vary in number of clients based on the performance of the two weeks prior.

An investment bank's charged initial fee would be based on a percentage of the amount of money contributed. Similarly, the performance bonus an investment bank receives from clients would be based on a percentage of the overall return on investment. If a player invests $1m and the initial fee is 5%, the performance bonus is 15%, and the return on the investment totaled to $720K, the investment bank would receive an overall payment for their services of $158K.

An investment bank's charged fees and bonuses would be based on the company's popularity and efficiency. This makes fluid staffing an absolute must to maximize the profits gained from the provided services. NPC clients flow to the investment banks based on the amount of money managed and returns made on that money as well as the marketing and efficiency of the company. Since NPC's have a direct effect on popularity, this means that an investment bank must be extremely skillful to maximize their profits. This also means that a well ran company is truly reflected onto the psychology of potential player clients through the "proof in the pudding" of the company's popularity; which was achieved through utilizing tactful and consistent investment strategies, and will prove further to player-clients that paying higher fees and bonuses is most probably worth their endeavor.

Limitations on Fees, Bonuses, and Money Managed

Since we can see that NPC's would have a direct effect on the popularity of investment banks and that the popularity of investment banks relies on money managed, returns on managed money, and efficiency of said investment bank, it is time we cover the limitations on managing money.

Investment banks would have limitations on the pool of wealth that can be managed. These limits would start at a maximum management of $100m and would increase steadily $30b at a 10-star rating. Following are the limitations at the given popularity levels on fees, bonuses, and money managed:

1-Star: $100m Management Cap, 1.5% Initial Fee, 5% Performance Bonus

2-Star: $150m Management Cap, 2% Initial Fee, 6.5% Performance Bonus

3-Star: $250m Management Cap, 2.75% Initial Fee, 8% Performance Bonus

4-Star: $325m Management Cap, 3.5% Initial Fee, 10% Performance Bonus

5-Star: $500m Management Cap, 4.25% Initial Fee, 12.5% Performance Bonus

6-Star: $750m Management Cap, 5% Initial Fee, 15% Performance Bonus

7-Star: $1.5b Management Cap, 5% Initial Fee, 15% Performance Bonus

8-Star: $3b Management Cap, 5% Initial Fee, 15% Performance Bonus

9-Star: $10b Management Cap, 5.75% Initial Fee, 17.5% Performance Bonus

10-Star: $30b Management Cap, 6.5% Initial Fee, 20% Performance Bonus

NOTE: ANY MONEY CONTRIBUTED BY THE PLAYER-RESIDENTS OF TORN CITY TO AN INVESTMENT BANK CAN ONLY BE USED FOR THE STATED APPROPRIATE ALLOCATIONS STATED ABOVE.

Company Specials

Insider Trading: 5% increase in personal returns from Torn City Bank and Stock Market investments

Quarterly Bonus: Receive 5% of the fees and bonuses paid by NPC clients

On the Board: 15% less quantity of stock required to receive benefit block of any given stock

Swiss Bank: Any quantity of money contributed to the Torn City Bank receives the option of "silent investment" which reduces a player's appeared net-worth by the amount contributed; all invested money to the Torn City Bank can be pulled out at any given time with a return on the money held to be based upon how long the money was held by the bank. NOTE: REMOVAL OF ANY MONEY RESETS THE TIMER ON THE PERCENTAGE OF RETURN

Company Positions & Recommended Requirements

Cleaner: 1,500 Manual Labor/750 Endurance

Company Inventory Items

Legal Retainer: Similar to daily marketing contributions, an investment bank can hire and pay a player-owned firm a daily contribution. This contribution is a 2-week commitment by both company's involved. Should the investment bank need litigation defense, the player-owned law firm will automatically represent their client to minimize the losses associated with a pending litigation. This commitment will need to be re-committed every 2 weeks.

Network Security: The investment bank must pay their network security team daily, similar to their marketing campaign. This minimizes losses should a player hack their company funds and managed money account.

Certified Public Accountant: Every investment bank has a probability of having their funds embezzled by their personnel. A CPA will minimize, if not hinder, any embezzlement attempts that might randomly be made on a random percentage of the positive returns on managed wealth. The amount paid to the CPA daily is a deciding factor in the effectiveness of employing a CPA.

Consequences for Losing Over 10% of a Player-Clients Money

Should an investment bank provide a loss on return exceeding 15% of a client's money, A player will be granted the ability to "litigate" the investment bank and receive his/her money back plus an additional percentage of the lost funds for mismanagement of their money. Investment banks can offset the costs associated with being litigated by paying their legal retainer a higher price per 2-weeks. The more money an investment bank contributes to their legal retainer, the less they will have to pay a client for being sued for mismanagement. Past a certain point of contribution to their legal retainer, their legal team can also minimize the percentage due back, not to exceed 5%, of the money lost. Should a player choose to litigate an investment bank, their identity will be made known to the investment bank. The investment bank's legal retainer should be a player-owned law firm that will receive their daily retainer. The higher the popularity of the law firm, the more effective their legal work is. A law firm's popularity CAN BE EFFECTED by continuously defending an investment bank that consistently loses a clients money. Should an investment bank continuously mismanage funds and be litigated too many times by player-clients, a civil litigation will ensue and ALL NPC clients silently contributed funds will be calculated in the overall payout due to the suit.

CONCLUSION

I hope you all can see where I am trying to go with this idea. I think it would be a very game-changing addition and could really spice things up in Torn City and feel like it provides a unique facet to the game for players who enjoy investing in the stock market and bank. Not only would this type of player-owned company revolutionize some of the other ways that the game is played, but it would create yet another route for players to interact with each other in the game. I sometimes feel like the player-owned company aspect of this game could be expanded on and I feel like this addition would be the addition to overhaul POC.

Profiting From Roullete: The Comprehensive Guide ·

Yes keep testing it out. I believe that a bias is placed against bigger bets which is why i only roll once on big bets following a loss and then play small bets again until a loss or two is accrued. Please keep giving me reports in this thread, im very curious to see how this turns out for people.

Profiting From Roullete: The Comprehensive Guide ·

I see what you're saying. A normal ratio using this strategy should be around 2:1 W/L but they can slate that to 1:1.5 if they wanted to.

The trick here is to minimize our losses to increase our profits which will, in turn, allow Roulette to be a practical source of daily income. interesting points to consider. I was thinking that with this drawn out suggestion that some of the more ably abused aspects would be refined by the devs. it is a shame that the devs dont care about suggestions because I think that something like this, if the right systems for implemented for it to not be overpowered, could really change the way players and companies interact with each other. I really appreciate the time you took to read this and give an opinion.
