Out-Donating Duke ($3.5 Billion Giveaway) -Phase 1 · · 30 likes

Out-Donating The Duke - Raius' "Farewell" Giveaway

The Intro -

Hey everyone, you may or may not know me, but i've been in the torn community for a while, and recently I've gotten kind of bored of the... "torn" aspect of torn. Now, I'm not leaving torn, since I still enjoy hopping in this forum and playing games, but I'm pretty much giving up on the whole economy aspect. So, I figured that since this Fun & Games tab has given me leagues of entertainment and I've really got no use for the money now that I don't train, attack, or anything like that, I'd give it away. Plus, I figured it'd be fun to out-do Duke himself with this giveaway, with a total pot of around $3.5 Billion. Maybe more maybe less, depends on how much I can sell all of my stuff for, but it'll definitely be a lot. More than those lame fully-upgraded PIs Duke gives out, for sure.

This'll be a multi-phase giveaway, with each having different pot values. First will be the Brainstorming phase, where i'll crowd-source some ideas since i'm uncreative as all hell. Then, depending on the ideas I can come up with and the ideas I recieve here, i'll either do a few spread-out giveaways with portions of the pot, or one massive giveaway with the whole $3.5 Billion. This'll likely be pretty long, so I hope you're in for the long ride. Cause if you are, you're pretty much guranteed to win something here. Or at the least, more likely than with Duke.

Phase 1 - Brainstorming/Ideas - 100 Million Pot

Now, I'm not extremely creative, so it's a bit difficult for me to find a way to really give out this money in a way that's not just rng. So, that's where the first phase of this giveaway starts. I want your ideas for a fun, creative, and generally entertaining way to give out the rest of the pot; whether it'll be through a game like the "Pass or take" or "Last to comment" threads, a giveaway like Duke's regularly scheduled ones in the Community events forum, or any other idea you can think of. So if you think you have a good idea, comment it below. Literally no restrictions are in-place, and anything goes.

The person who comments the idea I use in the actual competition will be given $100 Million of the total pot; and i'll be giving other good/highly liked ideas other rewards, like FHCs, Drug Packs, Xanax, etc. I'll keep this phase of the giveaway open for around a week, so expect the winner to be announced on the 30th, but the date may change if not enough ideas flow in, or none of them look entertaining enough for the actual giveaway.

Good luck to all the participants, and may the best idea win!

Current Phase 1 Deadline - June 30th (Subject to Change)

Phase 2 - Strongest/Weakest Man in Torn - $3.4 Billion total pot

Corruption Mafia 2 - Neutral and Mafia Win! · · 21 likes

Welcome everyone to Corruption Mafia 2: The Tower of Doom.
This is a sequel to the previous corruption mafia, and as customary, we have a bit of flavor to start the game off and set the mood. You don't have to read it if you don't want to, but it's suggested.

It had been three long years since the ship passed over to the new dimension. Three, strenuous long years, since the innocent child had been found abandoned in the wreckage by the inhabitants of this strange world. The glimmering gold and artfully stained wood of the original vessel had long since sunk deep into the quagmire it had landed in, within the strange, muddy swamp on the other side of the barrier.
The child told their tale to a small troop of adventurers, living out on their own in their small settlement encased within a ring of ancient cypress trees, raised up from the water, and the kindly folks took them in. All seemed well for a while, as the ragtag group went about their way roughing it in the pursuit of scientific excellence, attempting to uncover the strange secrets of the mysterious location. All seemed well enough, until one morning the group found one of their own face down in the dark water, a ragged gash across their back. Violet sludge oozed from the wound, and hung on the surface of the swamp like an oil slick.
It was then that the group was reminded of something that they had learnt quite a while ago.
Three years, to be exact.

They recalled the stories of the innocent child, of their brush with the arcane and the deathly, and of a thing called Corruption. This Corruption, it poisoned the mind and the soul, seeping through the edges of life until it spilled forth upon one’s death. It seems that the dastardly substance must have managed to slip under the metaphorical door, and intoxicate this new world’s inhabitants; and if it had already fully consumed one of their own, completely unnoticed, just how many more could be taken…?
Unbeknownst to them all, they were not alone in this isolated location. Further back in the dark confines of the swamp, between the black willow trees and the pitch lake, was a curious little wooden home, constructed out over the inky water amongst the reeds. The owner of this humble abode was not normally very fond of ‘getting involved’ with the dramas and dilemmas of the explorers, but in this case, her neck, and those more than hers, would also be on the line if this Corruption got very far. She took her dog, a doberman, and her coat, walking out the front door, making sure to keep a knife on her at all times. So, with a very strong self-preservation instinct backing her, a strange, fluffy-haired and rather short individual made their way down to the ring of cypress trees to offer a hand.

Three years ago:
After being greeted by the group, and all, as the innocent child stared into the distance, waiting to be meeted by the owner of the abode as they were told that the owner was to come down to see them, they saw something strange from far away. Along the borders of the cypress trees, short and tall, there seemed to be a structure made entirely of mud and dirt, with the exception of a tad bit of sand and stone. It looked like.. a broken down place, despite being lived in. It wasn’t taken very good care of, though. There seemed to be people working on getting the place together, and a man made of silver tin and his crevasses within his cracks and screws of tin filled with not air and clean scents, but mud, began waltzing down from the hill behind the trees and near the camp. He wore a plush, dirtied cape found from the wreckage of the ship. Who was this man…? And why was his area within this small dome in another dimension made of.. mud?? At least, it looked like mud. The child wasn’t really sure. Not everyone here was human, though, and they sure didn’t eat human food. When dinner came around, the child had sat down and had met this.. man of tin. His name turned out to be Raius, and he was the owner of the fine “mud” abode. Mud seemed to be.. alive in it’s own way, though. This didn’t make any sense. Why would mud look alive? Speaking of not being human, the dinner consisted of eating rocks with razor sharp teeth just like succulent, chewy meat. Fins on the side of their heads and razor sharp “claws” could be seen emerging from their figures as they ate “food”. The child asked if they had any other food, but it turns out that they only had non-humane, inedible to humans food. From then, the child had to adapt to survive, so they began to eat rocks and wood and leaves as well. They also seemed to drink nothing but salt water. Here, it was like salt water was their version of fresh water. Fresh water to them was salt water. Salt water to them was fresh water. They always had to have salt in the water, otherwise they’d become severely dehydrated. It was odd here for the child. At least they had fresh water, though. The child would eventually learn to drink salt water just as the others, though, too. As dinner continued, Raius had been telling the child about the tower and the mud palace, saying that there was a sir of Mud Palace, and that Raius had been the king of the palace, though also the owner of the Tower of Doom. The Sir Oglethorp of the palace was effectively the equivalent of Lord Druitt (anime reference). It was called the Tower of Doom, simply because the tower housed a bunch of nomads and former raiders, attempting to rehab them. It goes in place with the Old Folks Home, actually. Together they create a place safe for those from past trauma and those who need taken care of. There may also be children prescribed to the Old Folks Home if they so need to be, since there is no such thing as an orphanage in these parts of the moon. The orphans, though, go in between the Old Folks Home and the Tower of Doom. The Tower of Doom is also named what it is because with all these chaotic people trying to grow up and get healed, among other things, the atmosphere is almost always chaotic. Raius only runs the place because he has nothing better to do, since it’s boring at the palace, and he hates being around Sir Oglethorp. They’re effectively brothers, and can be a nuisance at times to one another. That’s why. Raius also mentioned how the name of the place came to be. The child asked, “Why are we on the moon and not earth?”, and Raius responded, “Earth is all the way out in space for us, and uninhabited by many. When we travelled there, there were signs of an old civilization, but it was deserted. All signs of life, other than dying plants, were gone. We came from saturn, so we wanted to explore the moon.” Finally, the conversation came to a halt, when the sales on the ship began to rock back and forth. There weren’t any strong winds that night, though, one can only hope, it wasn’t anything bad... The thing that the child took away from today, though, is that apparently, in this dimension, things are sort of... backwards. Packing up to go into a t-net (tent), the child, and everyone else, finally went to sleep. Such an eventful day. You (the audience) all wonder, what was being schemed by the living mud..?

Back to present times, the child had grown some, and had begun living with Raius in the palace. Raius had... “adopted” him. The mud had ended up expanding the swamp further, and the moon had inevitably become more populated. The ship seemed to stay the same, though... why didn’t it ever change anymore???

Rules:
1. Do not quote private communications with me. You may paraphrase them unless specified otherwise. A rule of thumb for how to do this properly is to write only the relevant sections of your role card from scratch, without using copy/paste.

2. Days and nights each last 24 hours. Phases change at 8 pm PST, or 04:00 TCT. No posting anything besides memes and unrelated conversations at night or when you are dead. If enough people want to change the phase change time, I’m fine with switching it with what’s most convenient for you all.

3. Write votes like **@Vote Hinotori** and, to change your vote, use **@Unvote Hinotori @vote Ene**. Remember to specify who you're unvoting, and write in all caps if you can't use bold.

4. Do not edit posts that contain a vote, or it will be nullified. If you must, correct yourself via posting again. And no editing posts to ninja the votes, if you do this you will be punished.

5. You may not speak to anyone besides me or Ruu about the game, except either in this thread or if I tell you otherwise.

6. Please make at least 3 posts that contribute to the game per day phase. If you can't, tell me; I'll understand. Fail to do so twice and you may be replaced or modkilled. You don’t need to vote every day.

7. Whomever has the most votes at the end of the day will be lynched. In the event of a tie, everyone in the tie will be killed, unless the tie exceeds 3 people. In which case, there will be no lynch.

8. Pretending to break any of these rules will be punished as if it were real. Do not do it.

9. No out-of-forum metagaming (such as looking at last activity). Meta from previous games is fine, but nothing from outside of Mafia. Also, keep past drama out of this game. Similarly, if things start getting heated, take a break, thanks.

10. No ciphers or coders allowed. Signals are fine.

And 11. Have fun. The last few games have been heated, so just let loose here and relax.

Added Note: Please send me all of your night actions, since I will be conducting them. Or ruu, if for some reason you can't send me them.
This game is a rolemadness with a closed list, so everyone will have an ability, no matter how strong or weak.

The Strongest Man In Torn

Heyo everyone, as you may have already seen from the setup for this competition over in this thread, i'm getting a tad bit bored of torn's economy and attacking/defending aspects, so I figured I'd give away my stuff to people who would make better use of it. In the first phase I gave away 100$ Mil, along with some other smaller prizes, to people who gave me ideas on how I'd give away the 3.4 billion-ish i'm sitting on. And in the end, the winner's idea was:

Run two seperate giveaways; one where you find the strongest man (or woman, you know what i mean) in torn, and one where you find the weakest.

And so here we are.

The contest is pretty simple. We're looking for the strongest person in torn.
To do that, we'll start by seeing who can beat me, which shouldn't be that difficult. The first person to beat me and send the attack log in this thread will then be declared the Champion. Then the first person to beat that person will be declared the next champion, and so on. The game ends when the current champion goes undefeated for a whole week. (Edit: Now 3 days.)
However, there is one restriction. The next attacker must be within 20 levels of the current champion. For instance, whoever beats me has to be level 16-56, or their attack will be invalidated. This is just to prevent the game getting shut down off-the-bat. However, on the last day the champion has to be defeated, this restriction will be removed, and everyone will be allowed to attack them.

Now, what kind of prize would befit the strongest in torn? How about the most luxurious house?
So, the prize for the undefeated champion will be a fully upgraded Private Island, currently valued at around $2 Billion.
Of course, i'll also be giving prizes to everyone else who partakes in the competition. The prizes might not be equal, but every prize will be worth your while.

There's no other rules aside from no self-hosping since that would make the game unfun. Just survival of the fittest.

So let the game begin, and may the strongest win.

D&D Mafia: Corruption Begins - Town Wins · · 19 likes

Introduction
It was a weekend, when you were all at your friend’s house, playing a laid-back game of d&d. In the game’s world, there was a sudden crisis, pandemic and such, known as corruption. The ruler of the corruption, the entity that had caused it, cast it as a curse among the weakest and most vulnerable people in your world. The entity goes by a title, calling themselves 'Slagbrine', or 'Srine' for short. Srine has been around for centuries, secretly building up a powerful army with their corruption as a sort of mind-control. Everyone under the control of the curse is called 'the corrupted'. Srine is not directly known as one with the corrupted, but rather, the controller of the darkness. To defeat the darkness, you first have to eliminate all of the corrupted, which will in turn drain Srine of all their power, and turn them to dust. As you were all ready to begin, the room went dark, and suddenly you all woke up on the ship, as your characters.

You and 19 other passengers were riding on a magically floating, dimension-traveling artifact, in the shape of a golden ship. Rusted, with moss creeping from the bottom of the ship up to the top and through the cracks. While each of you are on the ship for different reasons, your main reason for boarding the boat is to get away from the current pandemic threatening to revert the world to ruin. You are on one of many of these ships traveling along the pacific-east coast, leading you into a non-infected, fresh new beginning of a universe from scratch.

Leaving a lot of people paranoid, there has been news that some of the corrupted citizens have gone rogue, secretly boarding themselves onto the ships to illegally import themselves into the new universe. This has caused panic among many. This fear is realized when, on the first night you set sail, the captain of the ship went missing, and has not been discovered since.
As you woke up on this ship, you suddenly realized... The game had become a reality. After spending a while panicking, you all group together and search the ship. After a few hours, you began to find a purple, almost black ooze in the floorboards and cracks of the ship. You all collectively realize: Corruption has entered the ship. Due to the panic, everyone is acting differently than you remember. Some people may have ulterior motives in this world, while some are squeaky clean. It’s your job to survive until you reach your destination, and make sure the corrupted don’t take over the ship. Are you up for the task?

Data:
Mafia/Corrupted Passengers - [unknown amount]
Other/Uncorrupted Passengers- [unknown amount]
Total Passengers- [19]

Note: This game is pretty simple, and follows the normal mafia format (Day/Night 24 hour cycles), with the only standout change being: Everyone is a power role. This is both to make the game more interesting, and to make it more fun for the players. This is my first time hosting (Same goes for Ruu), so apologies in advance if this starts off a little rocky.

Rules:
1. Sign up by indicating you wish to play in a post below.

2. After registrations have closed you will be given an additional 24 hours to ask questions about the game. During this time you will also be assigned roles and teams.

3. Days will last 24 hours which will then be followed by nights that will last 24 hours as well unless specified otherwise. Each day and night will begin at 23:00 TCT unless disrupted.

4. Each alive player must cast a vote each day. Vote by posting “Vote Raius”. To change vote you must unvote then vote again (Unvote Raius, vote Ruu). You can abstain from voting by typing “Vote abstain”. Edited posts with votes will not be tallied as a non-vote. Two non-votes and you will be replaced.

5. If you miss voting twice you will be replaced or modkilled if you can't be replaced. Simply not voting counts as a missed vote. If you can't vote for whatever reason that day just vote abstain or notify me if it pertains to real life.

6. Ties between two players will result in the death of all participants unless affected by an ability. Ties between more than two will result in an a 24 hour extension of the voting period. If a tie between more than two people still exists, one player will be eliminated via RNG.

7. There may be multiple winners or losers in this game. How you win will depend on the rules for your role and/or team.

8. Private messages sent by the host may not be screen shot or copied and posted in any public discussion, however, they may be paraphrased.

9. All discussion must take place in the forum, unless you have a specific ability that allows for out-of-forum messaging.

10. You may not claim your role’s name, or your background. You can claim your ability or the alias you are given, but if you share your background or role name (I.e: Paladin, Barbarian), depending on the severity of the rule-break, you may be modkilled.

Message from Co-Mod, Ruu:
Disclaimer: The recent events and reference to your ability do not count as part of the background. You are not allowed to flavor-name claim, but you are allowed to role-claim your ability (not the name of the role, i.e. the name barbarian/paladin). Role-claiming on the first day is un-advised and not recommended. You are allowed to claim an alias, which has nothing to do with your ability and is strictly there for anonymous protection purposes, and because they’re just really pretty and cool names with neat meanings. You can’t reveal your background flavor, since it does have information that pertains to your specific ability. Telling your role name or dropping hints in the thread to allow others an unfair advantage at your expense will result in a warning, or (depending on the severity of the rule-break) a double mod-kill (because 2 mods, get it? It’s a pun joke thingy. Me, ruu, is bad at jokes, sorry). Have fun! P.s. you’re allowed to share your races, because races are fun. Heck, if you’re an artist, it gives you the ability to try to draw how you imagine the character you’re given! Go for it :) If any of you do draw your character, you’re always welcome to share a picture of them and what they look like in the thread during the day or night time and make memes about the characters you’re given too. Family fun for everyone! <3

PPS: Don’t worry, this is not a bastard game.

This game is designed for an ideal set of 19 players, but we can accommodate for 20, with replacements being more than welcome to apply. If you wish to spectate, then message myself or Ruu, and we’ll send ya a discord link.

Credit: Roles, Rolecards, and night actions will be handled by myself, while the flavor and vote counts (including writing the flavor for this op post, and the backgrounds for each character) will be handled by Ruu. Special thanks to BlackBird for balance-checking the role list!

The Weakest Man In Torn

We're looking for the weakest person in torn.

To do that, we'll start by seeing who can lose to me, which shouldn't be that difficult. The first person to lose to me and send the attack log in this thread will then be declared the Weakest. Then the first person to lose to that person will be declared the next weakest, and so on. The game ends when the current Weakest goes un"defeated" for a whole week. (edit: Now 3 days.)

There's no restrictions on items or anything like that, by the way. It just has to be a clear loss, so no stalemating or anything like that.

Obviously, whoever wins and is named the weakest in torn needs to go and work out. So, to the winner I will be giving 100 FHCs, currently valued at around 13.5 million, adding up to a whopping ~$1.4 Billion total. The winner can use them, give them away, sell them, whatever they want. I won't judge.

Of course, i'll also be giving prizes to everyone else who partakes in the competition. The prizes might not be equal, but every prize will be worth your while.

There's no rules aside from no self-hosping, since that would make the game incredibly unfun. Just survival of the weakest.
Also, you have to be at least 50 days old to participate.

So let the game begin, and may the weakest win.

Pfftttt day ends when hammer strikes

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Ruu isn’t inexperienced though
they’ve been playing for like 2 years

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Anyways I’m not sure of the final vote count, but if we get an extension, since my vote didn’t count (forgot the @), we might have room to switch it to cheb
but I’m more than a little suspicious of the sudden outburst of support for dance?

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Actually I don’t see how I’m considered less active than a few people on that list but okay
i find it weird how quickly the morale of everyone just died out of nowhere?
It was a double vote, we still got one of them, chill.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Still don’t understand how I don’t count as active at this point, but dance does?

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

vote dance

cough, right on time

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

So, what're we doing then? I feel like we should at least try to push a lynch; since if not, there's a 0% chance of us hitting a mafia.
Out of everyone here I'm either thinking BB cause again they've been playing too well, or we just do the mods a favor and end isaccasi. Since he's more inactive atm because of irl business, if he gets to the endgame we're gonna be kinda screwed, and I doubt the mafia would touch him, since wasting a kill on an inactive doesn't seem wise. I also don't think that the mods would kill him, since he hasn't been inactive enough to be killed, and i doubt we'll be getting any replacements.

So what's the stance of lynching isac? Cause if we don't have any other solid ideas, it's still better than not lynching at all; since there's a chance of him being mafia.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Yeah, I went over this with mine and bb’s little back-and-forth, I completely forgot rule 0.2 existed, and since it’s there, the idea of a Miller existing without a sheriff is definitely possible. So I take back that argument; it doesn’t hold as much weight as I thought it would.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Ohhh, I see what you mean in point two. 0.1 would imply that the Miller existing without a sheriff, which would normally be stupid, is actually deliberate by the hosts. That does make sense.
Though again, I didn’t push the point very hard, so I don’t see it as a central flaw in my game. But ig I’ll drop the point, since that line of reasoning does make sense.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Also love ya ruu and appreciate the support, but this is a hindsight move; I don’t really think you could’ve predicted that THAT was my reasoning. So still fair to read you as scummy for leaving the vote so quickly.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Because I don’t entirely trust anything cheb has said? and if I’m being honest I missed the post where you claimed your ability. I guess I overlooked it when I was skimming?
Before today he was just saying nonsense; today’s the only day he’s started giving out posts with info.
and I didn’t push opal, I was questioning the legitimacy of their claim. There’s a difference. Fine line, but it is a difference.

Second point makes no sense to me, I just don’t get what you’re trying to say. I didn’t use the rule as a way to push DP, I didn’t even mention it. It just wouldn’t make sense to me for a Miller to exist when there’s no sheriff type role, unless it existed as a way to mess with the day alignment reveal.

And yes, I find cheb’s blatant misinformation as town behavior. It just reads as him coasting entirely. Again if we want to lynch him I’m fine with it, since there are a lot of posts he’s made that just feel too wrong that I’ve covered before, but it just doesn’t feel worthwhile.

And mhm, I’m not lying about my role. N1 I used my role on regulus, it went through, he was roleblocked and protected. N2 used it on him again, I got redirected to jhay and the “well this interaction is a complete and utter contradiction” clause in my role clicked, so I forgot to lock the door.
That’s also why I was pushing the whole “do you guys see any themes in the roles here?” Since the start, because I thought that by rule 0, the hosts implied that every role had something wrong with it. Unless you think I’m some kind of mastermind that planned this exact situation and roleclaim a week in advance; in which case, thank you for the flattery.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

well you didn't read my posts i see :P

If we comb through everyone's roles and we don't have a sheriff, then GP's probably lying about their role. And also yeah, it's just more information for us to work with.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

...question. Do we think we actually have a sheriff? Because if not, the legitimacy of GP's claim tanks.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

That's another thing that confused the hell out of me; because my role should've, in all means, stopped jhay's ability; but then i wouldn't've targeted him in the first place.

So I think the mods added in the "lol you can forget to protect your target" as a "if he chooses jhay, his ability won't activate"
And I do mean "forget"; it's part of my role

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

Okay.

Roles were assigned to people first.
right?

Then alignments were randomly given out.
Meaning, your role has nothing to do with your alignment, and vice versa.
Yes, their role is graveyard keeper. That's confirmed. But that doesn't mean anything about their alignment. I think they're green because of how they reacted to being pushed, but the roleclaim has nothing to do with it.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

I'm guessing the "chance to forget to lock your target in" is a balance for how my protect also rolebocks?

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

I've protected reg both nights; and that's also why I was pushing you so hard day 2, reg. Because at the start of the day you pointed out you were locked up, and immediately started hardpushing me for some iffy reasons; so i thought you were a mafia trying to get the TP out.

Again, that's ALSO why i was pushing opal more about their theory; because they kept insisting that a protector didn't exist, so I thought they were trying to bait me to claim to debunk them.

Why is this Mafia Game a thing? | Over | Mafia Win ·

I'm your bondage man. I'm a town protector, which is why I was confused about everything.
granted, my role is kind of dogshit, since for some reason, on an rng roll i can just forget to protect my target?
That's why i was pushing what you said, because if you got flavor that i protected you, then that meant the lightning rod didn't happen, and opal would've been lying.
I was also skeptical about the lightning rod being used because I would've protected them; but the rng "you forgot to lock your target in!" happened ig.
