Honestly with the current technology with the military equipment idk why they target important or buildings of value.
Targeting hospitals, churches / mosques and buildings that hold kids, women or the elderly is just terrible. I think this is a low level strategy for a war.
Weren't iranian women in the seventies allowed to dress how they like before the Shariah law? Also Sharia law is Islam's legal system not the legal sistem of a country like Italy. If a woman goes to UAE she is obligated to wear a hijab as a foreigner and a non muslim. And people obey the law as it is there. If Italy decides to ban it then so be it and people should obey it. You go to a foreign country and you obey their rules nobody is obligated to obey some rules of someone that came from abroad. It's a matter of toleration and respect. When you are not in your country you obey and respect the law there. We haven't seen any other religious group that tries to force their law to others in a foreign country.
Well an individual has a subjective relation with church and religion. In the case of orthodoxy yes we have a lot of corruption but this does not keep on individual to not have his own faith. But this isnt the only case regarding corruption. There are several documentaries about priests from different countries that fool people for their money. Case end point people like Kenneth Copeland that made a huge amount of cash and they just walk the earth without any issues. (and i know there are multiple people that i don't have time to search for atm like some preachers in africa that pull similar stunts). But imagine having multiple people similar to Preacher Copeland but on a smaller scale. That's how you get the corruption. So stating that the church is corrupt, as against one's strong believes seems to be rather true if we're talking about a large percent of cases. Maybe not the church you are going to but the mechanism at it's core seems more corrupt than it used to be. With my statement im not attacking the idea or the notion of belief i try to tackle the idea of the church not being as just as it should be.
Well i feel like both me and Kasto state the same thing. Both being orthodox. If we're talking about Romania. Churches do not pay any taxes. Most of the clergy have either business or are involved politically. So as an example for each of the cases. Some priests do have other business from bars, to shops, my brother in law works for a clinic owned by a priest for example that charges people extra because it is in the proximity of the church. And the political part , in the rural parts of Romania where you have mayors for the villages do tell people who to vote for. Case and point is with the head of church in Romania that is politically involved one way or another not directly cause you can not mix religion and politics. So that's why i was curious how it is with religion in your case.
I honestly think it's mostly the same. I mean most people in the Balkans that i'e met outside my country state the same thing. It's rather weird. There are some priests that are really engaging to listen to or even to have a conversation. But i assume it's rather rare. I don't know how priests in other branch of Christianity are thou. So your experience may be different.
