To clarify this for me, Chedburn, if I get 45 items upgraded, select my 3rd branch and add one item to it, what happens to my 3rd branch unlock if I drop everything and reconfigure with upgrades that cost more respect, meaning I might only end up with, say, 38 items in total? Is the 3rd still available to me or does it vanish?
I think both sides have done a brilliant job. CO have had to work hard and Nomads have put in plenty of overtime too! I hope everyone enjoyed this scrap. It's definitely been the closest match we've had and it's nice to see two factions stabbing each other's members in the face and not relying on outside hitters, etc. Fair play to everyone.

You can easily see how you're dressed. Set up a loadout with the items you want to see and open the fight screen. You don't need to actually start a fight, just look at the image on the left. Voila! You in your clothes, badges, hats, whatever.
Halving the cost of upgrades won't really do anything: factions will all simply unlock more and any disparity will remain. A short study of economic theory will back this up: without putting in some kind of secondary control, halving the price of something for everyone makes no difference at all.
If the objective is to reduce factions switching then why not kill the perk when the cancel is selected and keep the 100 hour delay before new branches can be selected. That'll discourage people from jumping from 'war' to 'training' and back again.
I can't approve your idea but dislike your alternative and suggest this is re-examined, possibly create a working party to take this on and spend some time to understand the problem, find practical and workable solutions and present them to committee.
