I'm making this post on behalf of our faction's leader, my friend, MADD168_8. She didn't want to make a forum post herself because she is a private person and, let's be honest, she had way too much on her plate lately. This post was delayed because we wanted to kick the traitor from our faction before we shared everything here. Why can't we kick him now? Ranked wars prevent kicking people from the faction.

Lynx22 was a close friends of MADD, they knew each other for a long time, since the start of Dexter's Laboratory. From what I know, Lynx was a part of the leadership but didn't do a great job. Lynx then left and went to HT, then moved to TNL, after that he started his own unsuccessful cache farm faction and a few months ago, asked MADD to join DL again.

He caused nothing but trouble since then. One notable incident was Lynx attacking people who had med out deals with our faction members, which was against our war terms. It was a simple termed war and it caused us a huge headache to get one person under control who ignored people telling him to get his shit together. He was given forgiveness, he was offered a second chance and yet he thought he deserved more. 

At the same time, MADD was very busy irl and could barely keep up with work, Torn, faction management and chatting with people. She was tired of what could only be described as Lynx's constant bitching and ranting about the current leadership (who, to no surprise, didn't like our little troublemaker).

How long Lynx planned this is unclear, possibly wanted to do this since returning to DL, maybe even since he was removed from leadership during his first stay in DL. He prepared for this enough to join a Private Security company to avoid bounties from his actions. Either way, effects of the heist were clear.

We had two of our last war's payouts merged because of MADD's time issues. The robbery happened just after that. This means that we were left without our hard earned cash. While the money was missing, we were telling our members that a "glitch" caused us to be unable to withdraw their money. In the meantime, MADD was busy trying to negotiate with Lynx to recover at least some of the stolen money.

TL;DR: Lynx thinks he's a victim here, was "neglected" by his friend MADD, nobody really likes him because he's a very abrasive person and thinks he deserves the money. The vault theft is his form of revenge for all alleged wrongdoings done against him by every person in DL. We don't owe him anything, we never did. Yet, he took it all like it was rightfully his.

You might say that we shouldn't have trusted him with banking permissions, etc. Hindsight is 20/20, he was trusted as a long time friend of MADD and we never thought he would do such a thing.

So... He doesn't care about getting hosped, about the money, just wants to train in the gym. Alright, sure ;)

So... Here we can see that Lynx basically admitted to having planned this heist for a while now and that the company director of a Private Security company he was in was fine with employing a vault thief.

...Except the company director just changed his mind as soon as a different inconvenience could affect him. Good for us, I guess?

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same f***ing thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change...

And you know what? Shit changed. I have 7.5% of bottle caps in circulation in my display case. And I LOVE IT :D

What makes this more of an achievement is that I got most of these bottle caps in about two months.

Started with 200k at the beginning of March 2025, ended with 3m on the evening of May 10th.

Some people prepare for the apocalypse, some people also really like fallout. Not saying I'm not one of those people but I just wanted to have a treasure full of round shiny thingies.

It's been a journey, that's for sure. Cost me a small fortune actually. I would have never made it without the help of my friends and the encouragement of my bottle cap rival Jade :P

How did it all start? Well, Crimes 2.0 came out with the new fleshed out Search for Cash crime. I started collecting bottle caps by myself, not getting too many of them because they were still expensive at the start. Ended up collecting 200k over the course of a couple of months, blissfully unaware of any leaderboards. With me satisfied with the collection, I would've never gone for having even more bottle caps if one person didn't message me out of nowhere.

That person was Ineroth. Asked me two months ago if I wanted to buy some bottle caps. I agreed. He helped me get most of the way there. While I have worked with other traders during this time, none have been more reliable than him. A good friend, an ambitious player and a god-like bottle cap hunter.

Along the way, I shared my progress in the achievements forum. I held the 3rd place in the bottle cap race and made an open challenge to other collectors. As a self-admitted forum lurker it was a huge achievement for me and an even bigger thing for me to share it with the world. (People are scary, okay?)

I have beaten Jade to the first place around the start of May. Around 1.7 million caps. (Dumbass me didn't take a screenshot of the leaderboard XD).

This little victory was short-lived as Jade increased her collection by over 400 thousand caps the very next day. She reached over 2 million caps, winning the race to that milestone. I was happy for her, yet shocked by such a sudden shift in the balance of power.

The bottle cap prices in the market were already sharply increasing due to our rivalry. With the market value of 1.5k, and the actual value of 3.5k, the supply was low and I wasn't sure how I could beat my rival to the 3 million milestone. Even with Jade's offer to stop buying bottle caps for a week I knew I couldn't do it even with the help of my friends.

Then I had an idea.

I had a list of all the bottle cap holders, I had the networth that I could squeeze out of my stocks. On the afternoon of Friday May 9th I sent messages to most of the top 50 bottle cap holders. I never expected it to be so effective. I have offered them fair prices, and I received what I asked for.

The very next day, May 10th I reached 3 million caps.

And with this, I'd like to announce that I won't be collecting more caps any time soon. It's been a fun journey, I met new friends along the way and I wouldn't have made it without support of everyone involved.

I'd like to thank Ineroth for waking up my bottle cap passion from its slumber, contributing absurd amounts of bottle caps every single day. You're a real beast my man!

Now, on a more serious note, I would like to thank everyone who helped me achieve this goal. Thank you my friends in Dexter's Laboratory and a special thanks to a certain someone who has done more than I could've ever imagined. I would've never got so many caps and I most likely would have stopped at 200k a long time ago without him.

What's next? 1 million caps? It's not that far! 2 million?! Time will tell ;)

I wish every other bottle cap collector that their post-apocalyptic currency collection will grow without end.
