I have put together 3x mystery parcels that I am now placing up for auction. One of the parcels contains a nasty surprise, one contains a pleasant offering, and the final one is packed full of fanciful fun!
Here is how it works:

The 3 highest bids at 22:50.00 Sat (TCT) will be deemed the winner (based on reply time stamp.) [/background]4. Any reply with a time stamp after 22:50.00 Sat (TCT) will be deemed invalid. 5. You bid knowing there is the chance you receive something you don't want. 6. You bid with the knowledge that getting butthurt only ruins your day. 7. Starting bid is $1,000,000.
The three parcels will be distributed to the winners randomly, via a trade.
If this goes well, then I make some money, and I'll do it again. If not, then I will go back to living my Torn life in the shadows :D

I have a Duke mission to attack TheTornographer [1925544] with various masks. The target is currently in Fed for real money trading. After going back into the mission, on of the 3 attacks was updated to a new target, however the remaining two attacks still require me to attack TheTornographer [1925544].
Wages will be Work Stat based, and will be in line with the company profits- the better the company performs, the more you will earn.
Trains (as they become available) will be rotated fairly through the staff, but will occasionally be used to focus on particular staff members to bring their stats up to an appropriate level.
Wages and trains policies will be reviewed once the company reaches 9 and 10 stars.
Requirements: We will hire anyone who is looking for a job, so long as you are working diligently to improve your work stats through education courses. Obviously, the better your work stats, the better it is for you and the company.
Daily log in- to maintain your effectiveness, you need to be active. If you disappear for more than a couple of days without communication, you are likely to be replaced.
Regular rehab- if you're a drug user, rehabbing at least once per week (if you're lvl 15 or better) is required to maintain your effectiveness. If you refuse to rehab, you will likely be replaced.
Level- if you are not already level 15, you need to work hard to bring yourself up to that level. Once there, I don't care if you don't level up again before you become a cold stiff corpse.

I vote we hold this TornCON thing in New Zealand one day. Then I might just be able to make it. I can tell you f**k all about what to see and do here because my life consists of work and kids, but I'm sure there is stuff to see and do...
I was bored one evening, hating my real job, and searched for "text based RPG" and whaddya know? Torn popped up. I started an account with my name as the title of the last movie I had watched with my kids, and then just kinda kept playing.
I joined a faction that was willing to take me on as a new player. My marriage irl fell apart and I became more immersed in the game, and my faction mates really supported me through that.
I've been with the same faction ever since- through merges, takeovers, and name changes. They've let me stay though thick and thin, through my periods of barely there activity, and always they have been great!
Torn is an escape from the daily grind of reality (into the daily grind of the imaginary, lol)

My heartfelt condolences to you and yours. It's never easy to lose someone, especially when they are that close. I hope you have plenty of people to draw strength from as you walk down this road.
