I have been saving up for a long time to be able to start in on the collectable market and I decided I wanted to start with something that was set at a specific number and was ideally a series of items. After looking around for a bit I decided on the Torn Coin Collectable's and set a few ground rules for myself going in:
1. Never pay more than 700 mil for a single coin. (I may have saved up a lot of money but Im not rolling in it. only about 13 bil networth and the only thing pushin that higher is stockblocks or revives) 2. Message every single person selling a coin. ( This was in part to try and see if they would sell the coin at a lower rate but more importantly to see if I could meet someone nice who would sell me multiple coins at the same time.) 3. Every stockblock is up for liquidation except for Torn City Investments (bank interest) and Feathery Hotels Group (feather hotel coupon every 7 days). Nothing will ever get me to break those block as there just to good. lol
All in all I managed to meet some amazing people who I have now added to my friends list and still talk to today. I also met some... lets say less than nice people as well but a quick block and move on is always fine. lol
I decided to post my logs below for those who love stats and numbers like myself along with some memes of what I was going through at the same time. I hid the names of everyone I traded with as I wasn't sure if they would want their names revealed with the exception of the auction event as that was clearly public knowledge. All in all collecting all 15 coins cost me: $7,510,225,406

Seamen is more active than VS so they will win the final one on one. this is a fact, not conjecture. With that being the case why does VS leadership not want to team up with MH to give there team a shot at first?
Look I'm part of the MH council and dam proud of what my team has accomplished. we took the 8th most active team and made it to top three. Hell yeah! We got there through our amazing team members and fellow leaders but MH isn't going to win the one on one vs seamen or VS. We know that, the members know that, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. So instead of VS teaming up with MH to try and take down seamen they instead want to do a one on one? Well I'm calling there leaders out for there BS on that.
Everyone knows about how seamen, VS and total bankers were in a three way alliance. Honestly i saw nothing wrong with that as this is elimination and yeah everyone does that. It's good tactics, turning on allies at the right time, ensuring your team can make it as far as possible. Personally once MH did switch to working with seamen and VS it has been an absolute pleasure talking with them in discord. I found that the leaders of both teams were well thought out on there plans, active and very knowledge. I think that the way VS and Seamen have played elimination is also fantastic and something they should be proud of. What I don't want to see though is the leadership of VS rolling over to seamen because they are friends outside of elimination. Its your responsibility as leaders to do everything you can to win the competition for your team. You have 797 members who want to win and get that first place merit. Unlike other parts of the comp where you have to make bold ally switches and fun last minute jumps to get by this is just a simple numbers game now in the final three.
Look the best thing about torn is the community. building up factions, making friends, forum memes, what have you. Elimination is the same way. You make some great friends and come together as a team. With that being said its understood that for the next couple of weeks your elimination team comes first, not your faction. You make decisions that are best for your team to win the competition, you struggle, you overcome betrayals, you make lifelong friends. It's messy and everyone loves the drama because this is a crime game. So for a teams leadership to actively concede to second when they have a real shot at making first just puts a sour taste in my mouth regarding the VS leadership.
Could u say I'm making this post in a bid for MH to come out second? sure. I'm not gunna lie and say i wont do everything i can for my team to make it as far as they can. It's just a shame the leaders of VS aren't willing to do the same after they had such a great rest of the competition.
I decided to go for my 500 kill streak merit by leaving my faction and level holding at 49. I figured I would be to high for people looking for easy targets but not high enough for strong guys looking for whales to mug. Well after I hit 500 I decided to keep going for as long as possible and today I just got hit! Couldn't have imagined when I started I would make it this far and I plan on never doing it again. haha. Was also pretty sweet leveling up 6 times in a row after XD
I figure the winnie mask will be worth far more in time than the keepsakes given how many there are with time and this initial fever dies down. I am willing to trade the winnie mask in my display for any two keepsakes not in my display. =]
lol nice! I managed to get 20 of the keepsakes in my display but unless someone pays me 2 bil there's no way I'm destroying them. same for my full torn coin collection but that's 3 bil. XD
I don't mean just collectables but all items that are non-returning. So for example the dancing Santa Claus 09 hasn't been released again since 2016, jack o latern lamp with 206,000 circ hasn't been released since 2014. etc. Anything with over 2 years and has stopped being released is what I'm looking for regardless of how many are in circulation.
Was hoping there was something someone put together somewhere. lol
I think it's more impressive when someone has a full set of something hard to get. Like a full set of artifacts considering the price of an Egyptian amulet, full set of the exclusive 250 circ masks, all the torn collectable coins, all the dog plushies, and in extreme cases all of the rare collectable toys. I'm sure there more hard sets to get but since those are semi obtainable with a lot of effort and not locked behind players who have been in torn since the beginning, its much more impressive.
I'm currently at skill 54 for burglary and have continued to do residential targets as per the Crime 2.0 guide suggestion however I have noticed that I still get consistent fails on the basic residential properties. (both scouting and actual burgherly attempts). I also always make sure to get the scouting to half of the green bar before the burglary attempt.
So my question is does having a higher skill increase your odds of success like it does with other crimes or is it just a way to unlock more properties for potential burglary targets in this particular crime?
If you want to go very late game like me get all the standard upgrades to give yourself more treats per attack and what not but dont spend any of the treat tradein upgrades. Make sure to get inflation and mortal coil and just start saving treats in ur basket. Ched confirmed the max amount of treats you can have in your basket is 9,999 so once you have 9,000 treats in your basket you will make a guaranteed 10 treats per hour while the event is live.
That's an extra 240 treats per day for doing absolutely nothing. combine that with all your normal attacks and you'll be racking in far more profits than anyone else for all future years as you keep your treat count above 9k minimum.

If I buy the inflation upgrade for my Halloween basket:
"The treats in your basket increase by 0.1% per hour while the Halloween Basket event is active"
and I have 900 treats in my basket, does this mean I am getting nothing from this upgrade until I have 1000 treats in my basket? or does it round up so I get 1 treat per hour?
If I have the 10% banking stock investment does it need to be live an active for the entire bank waiting period? Like I had it active when I placed my bank investment but now that I have to wait three months can I move that stock block into something else that will give me something every 7 days or do I need to keep it in the torn city investments block for the entirety of the banking investment to get the extra 10 percent?
