(I will try to move the story along as regularly as possible sometime that might be once or twice a day and other times it might be every other day. The ideal would be to have about 6-8 players I will work with less and I can work with more.)
(Charles Mingus Moanin' playing in the background) As the music plays in the background and the Military Special whiskey burns down my throat I watch as more explosions go off in the city. Not a surprise those on the "police force" are just as crooked and fractured as the rest of this godforsaken city. A portion of me hopes that the phone does not ring, that I can sit here in my sh**hole trailer and watch as Torn does the world a favor and burns to the ground.
*RING* Damn! *RING* I pick up the phone, "Send it." No need for pleasantry. It is our wonderfully incompetent Commissioner, and I know what he wants before he even snivels his first words. "Lieutenant! I know damn well you have been watching as our city goes to hell! Why is it that you and your team are not already here?" "Gee, I didn't know if my team was going to be needed. I figured with your leadership abilities this would get swept under the rug before I finished my bottle." "Get your a** here now! I better see you in full kit ready for the brief in 1 hour, or so help me-" "Understood." I slam the receiver down. My guess is that the Commish started some BS that he could not bring in and now he needed "The Team" to save his sorry a**. One hour is standard, but it will only take the team 30 min to get to the station and another 15 to gear up. It should only take me 5 min to contact my two team leaders, and they can get the rest of the team spun up. Meaning I have 10 min all to my self to finish one more drink and listen to Migus blow "Better Get It In Your Soul." Then I will make the calls that will start the killing.
(The Next two posts should be the Alpha and Bravo team leaders and after that the rest of the team. I don't care what you claim to be, however, even though not as sexy Commo and Medics are always good things to have.)
As I sit for a six hour layover I wander around and realize how unique, in a cultural anthropology sense, airports are. You have a large volume of people in and out all day long and of wildly diffrent backgrounds. All with the end goal of getting to their destination with as little conflict as possible.
Then another thought pops in to my mind, social media and social gamning might share some similarities with an airport.

Walking through the station doors a couple of minutes before the anticipated meet time, I walk through the staging area to see if "The Team" is awaiting orders or if they are still trying to get kitted up. Should not have been a question in my mind, however, I knew Xion and Bravo to be professionals and as such did not need much reminding or guiding. Honestly, my job was to take the BS from higher and distill it down into something for these two high-speeds to work with. "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war," always seemed to be appropriate. As I walk by I yell, "Make sure you are doing PCCs and PCIs (Pre-combat Checks and Pre-combat Inspections), and make sure you have provisions for the night it is going to be a long one." Both reply in the affirmative, looking mildly annoyed that I was reminding them of their job. I did it mostly to announce that I had arrived and... well sometimes when you get to a certain rank you want to make sure that everyone knows you are there. As I move through the staging area to the Commissioner's office, I prepare myself for my actual job, caudling the man-child and then trying to weed through his BS to figure out what the mission is.
As I walked through the door a barrage of insults and questions of why it took so long greet me. I want to ask if the Commissioner know's how to tell time, but decide that having him get on with the actual brief is more important.
After what seems like hours, actually only twenty minutes, I walk back into the staging area to give the brief. I call "FALL IN" and "The Team" gets into formation two squads with Xion and Bravo at the lead position of each.
"Report!" I declare. Xion, "Alpha Team four assigned four present." Bravo, "Bravo Team four assigned four present."
"Grand, you all stopped pulling your horns long enough to show up for work!" "Well, ladies and gentlemen it has come to us to keep Torn City from imploding once again. I will be given the team leads the low down, but as the WARNO we will be running two ops. One on land and one on water. Our target that we will be the Docks. The maps that everyone should have loaded is the SW quadrant of Torn City. The police that have not joined in on the fun of trying to tear the city apart have quarantined the riot to this location, and most of the fighting is limited to between our base of operations, the hospital, and the docks. Our roll-out time will be 2100 hrs so that we can try to use the night as concealment. Team leaders get your people to prepping for water operations, and the ammo draw is open so funnel them through for pick-up. After, meet me in 5 mikes to discuss the gritty details." "FALL OUT!" In the meeting with the team leads I explain that the incident started because the Commissioner had guaranteed a big-time drug runner and gang leader, Edgar Bogart, that he would have the docks cleared. Unfortunately, a new beat cop that had just come off duty happened upon the docks and investigated. Long story short newbie catches a case of death and the rest of the force was called in. The gang started shooting and calling in reinforcements, which also included some of the cops already on scene and that is when everything turned south. After the cops joined in the rest of the neighborhood decided that it was time to settle scores or to try to make a profit off of the stalled drug shipment. The Commissioner wants Edgar dead before he makes it off with the drug (probably the Commissioner's supply) and/or does more damage to the city. If I were to take a guess the Duke is pulling the commissioner's strings.
Mission: Tactically assault the docks using land, air, and water tactics with the intent of executing the gang leader, Edgar.
Enemy: It will be hard to tell friendly from the enemy so if it is not part of our team lethal force is authorized. However, bullets are not endless, when tactically feasible avoid shoot-outs.
Terrain: Whichever team takes the land mission will be traveling along the main road that has been mostly secured by our boy's in blue that have not lost their minds, have your head on a swivel though. The water op will be taking off from a dock south of the hospital and swinging out 3 miles south of the docks and cutting off the engine to maintain light and sound discipline. At that point, the team that takes this mission will be brought in about 1 mile south of the dock, and they will swim the rest of the way. Note: due to the separation communication is imperative, no friendly fire.
Troops: 4 person teams x2 / we will also have drone air support giving me up to the minute info about what is happening on the ground, which I will be feeding to you two as needed.
Time: roll out to the hospital will be 2100 hr. At 2130 after arriving at the hospital, the two teams will split off to their respective positions and start mission. As the teams are making their way to the start point, I will receive the incident commanders brief and take command. At that point, I will disseminate any new relevant information and let the teams loose to do their thing.
As previously stated the hospital is the base of operations and where I will be giving orders to the pawns on the ground. So if one of the teams needs grunts moved their direction, I will have the authority to move them to your location.
(Sorry for the length of these last few the next few will have less of me yaking ;P)
Reality checking in for a second. Is no one else slightly worried about the 20 somthing looking dude talking about sexual activity with the 14-ish looking kid?
I am hopping that there is an admin somewhere monitoring chat between these two, beacuse yall might be infested with predators looking looking the Unabombers before pic.
(Cool, being that we have at least the team leads I will fill in some context on who "The Team" is and a quick rundown of my character and role. Xion and Neddd after this it would be helpful to me if you would give a little backstory to your characters, being that you two would be the closest to myself and the ones executing orders. As I said previously, I do not care what you fancy yourself to be, and I am not going to crush an idea, if it is in the story I will run with it... just try to keep it within the realm of the backstory.)
"The Team": In short, this is a SWAT team. What makes this organization different is, due to every two-bit Bonnie and Clyde in Torn City being a hardened criminal, this team is generally made up of individuals from Special Forces, SEALS, Marine Recon, Rangers, FET (Female Engagement Teams), etc. Normally those that had to be let go due to... well let us just say that the Geneva Conventions has rules that don't work for these folks. The missions are generally to put an end to a hostage situation, drug busts, and riots. Of course, this is all on the surface. Regularly "The Team" is used for political reasons that need quick and surgical action. I mean, the Duke would not let a bunch of military dogs run around the city without his very own shock collar. So a sense of moral ambiguity is necessary if a member wishes to not lose their minds executing missions. Due to "The Team" being part of the Police the gear is normally: Armor: Plate Carrier with front and back plates/ Combat Helmet/ Kevlar gloves w/ knuckles/ Kevlar knee pads and elbow pads
Main weapon: M-4 with ACOG sight (5.56mm 30 rounds per mag x 7 Mags +1 in the mag well)
Side Arm: Sig Saur P220 (.45 ACP 8 rounds per mag x 3 Mags)
"The Team" is encouraged to use these items but their weapons and armor of choice are up to them. Each member is expected to be proficient with their tools of war.
Lt. "Jazz" Spiegel: Former SF medical sergeant. Served in Cambodia, DR Congo, and Afghanistan, OPs Classified. Service of 10 years, "dishonorable" discharge for unspecified cruel and unusual treatment of the enemy. Age: 42 Ht: 6' 4" Wt: 200 Weapon Load-Out: Standard police issue Additional weapons: V-42 stiletto knife
The nickname "Jazz" was given to him due to his penchant for listening to the music and his style of fighting. Jazz is a quick a lose musical style that always seems about to lose control but at the last moment brings the song back. This is how Lt. "Jazz" fights and plans; every mission seems to be on the brink of collapse and then miraculously it turns out fine. Most believe that this is due to his team, but if it works why fix it. After being discharged from the Army, for torturing an enemy combatant that had killed two members of his team, "Jazz" found his way to Torn City and decided that he should join the other walking turds. However, in some final belief in morals and humanity, he joined "The Team" to try to reign in the chaos of the city. After three years in "The Team" Lt. Jazz became the Officer in Charge (OIC) and has been leading the elite members of "The Team" since.
(I will kick this thing off tomorrow with or without more players. If there are others that want to jump in the middle I will try to route them to either Alpha or Bravo Teams.)

"Haha, this a**hole thinks he is Operator as f**k." Okami's words remind me of those dammned sadistic SERE instructors, but I laugh this time because now this trash is SSDD to me, Same Sh*t Diffrent Day.
Whatever, the game is I know it is best to find cover and concealment while the others run around like scared pups. I grab my K-Bar and make my way to an observation point till this Charlie Foxtrot settels a little. No point in wasting energy.
