I was wondering if there was a way to do this without going through a faction? My faction hasn't unlocked the option for storing and distributing points yet.
And if I can't send the points to a player, could I "trade" the points to them?
I'd like to give my gratitude to IO's elected leadership and the volunteers who stepped up in vital support roles. What the rest of us saw was only a fraction of the time, energy, and resources you put into the team behind the scenes. You created an incredible space for new and veteran players to enjoy the competitive spirit of Elims and maintained great sportsmanship despite the poor behavior from other teams' leaders.
To my fellow chairs, sofas, wheelchairs, recliners, footstools, fawns, and apes:
WOOHOO!!!!!!!! We kicked ass this year!
To those out there who are kicking the leg of their chair and thinking, "nuh uh, we lost >:(" I am going to quote my grandmother at you:
An unfun hobby is worse than an unpaid job.
We all know there's a hundred thousand ways to "win" Torn (the numbers game). But it's Torn (the friends we made along the way) that gets us to stick around. And this week, I made some more reasons to stick around. :)
We rallied all the way to the end with true integrity and good spirits. Our arms and legs and thongs were joined together as we faced some crazy 10v2 and 10v1 odds. Yet in the 11th hour, on our last life, the vibes in our Discord were still fucking immaculate. Even Amanai said a nice thing.
So the real winners of Torn and the 2026 Elims are the players who make friends and fond memories, because those are the only things we can take away from this game when counting numbers isn't fun anymore.

Sold a pretty expensive item to her because she has really high, competitive rates. You can trust her to respect the deal of the trade and not mug you right after. 10/10 would trade again.
The way I see it, when people aren't consciously aware of the difference between their irl and online character, they tend to change a little. This is probably due to the anonymity and illusion that our online words have no irl consequences.
When people are conscious of the difference in their behavior, they change a lot. This could be because these people recognize what they can get out of their online character that they are lacking irl, so they actively seek it out. (like trolling to fulfill mischievous impulses, harassing other people to relieve stress and/or gain some sense of superiority etc...etc...)
In personal experience, I have a lot of close friends and family whom I have to alternately spend time with on the regular. If I'm in an irl social event, my friends expect me to be super active, and I usually gladly oblige. But...sometimes I just want to be a fly on the wall. Enjoy a conversation without having to participate myself. Irl I'd be an eavesdropping creep...
So online, I'm a lurker. I carry the same values and have the same reactions to things that I would irl, but just don't really express them. I'll post things, but they're inconsequential. I try not to start beef and just get some enjoyment out of watching other people socializing in GD.
This (longass) post would be an exception, idk why. Just wanted to respond to a good question.
