Hello,
I was gonna try to keep this short, but then I realized I’ve somehow survived a full year with the Eye, and that deserves at least a few paragraphs of rambling.
I’m Star, a board member for the Nuke Family and part of leadership in Nuclear Blast. But that’s not what this is about. This is about being the first M’aol item looter and the proud owner of what I’d call the second best relic, the Ladso Eye.
Since then, I’ve had people ask what it’s like, what my plan was, what I’d do differently, and occasionally, how much I’d sell it for. Spoiler alert: no.
So I’m breaking this down into what I did with it, what I learned, what I think about the changes, and probably a few sarcastic comments I couldn’t resist writing.
How It Started
October 30, 2024. I looted the Eye. My notifications exploded before I even finished blinking, everyone calling me “lucky.” I didn’t feel very lucky when I got flight delayed on the way home. Seemed like Torn’s idea of balance.
At that point, I didn’t have any good books. So on October 30, I started reading "Higher Daddy, Higher!"... not because it’s great, but because it was one of the only books I actually had. Then on November 26, I joined a PSF to cash in 1,750 job points for 5,250 mission credits (thank you, past me, for spending way too much time in PSFs). That ended up paying off because two days later I got Ugly E in my mission shop, and I started my first ever read on November 30, 2024.

From there, it was all training. By the time I’m writing this on October 22, 2025, I’ve used 1,278 FHCs, for a total cost of about 17.6 billion Torn dot com dollars. I averaged 2,554 energy a day, with 2,376 of that going straight into the gym. That gave me ~6.6 million stats per day for a total of 2,157,174,852 gained over the year.
When I started Ugly E, I had 524,330,544 stats:
- 141,169,703 Strength
- 231,268,024 Defense
- 151,224,509 Speed
- 668,308 Dexterity

So yeah.... the eye probably helped.
What I’d Do Differently
Honestly, not much. I got pretty lucky with my mission shop and started as soon as I could. I missed some refills, a few FHCs, and probably forgot more Xanax than I’d like to admit, but life happens. I’m happy with the growth I managed to get while still being able to do normal things like sleep and work.
If I had to redo it, maybe I’d be a little more consistent. Maybe. Probably not.
The Changes
When the relics first came out, they were meant to be forever items. Real relics. The kind of thing that changes your long term gameplay. The devs said they had been working on them for years and that they were balanced. Then less than a week later, a few loud players cried that they were too strong, and the relics were suddenly changed to one year timers before anyone could even see if they were overpowered.
That means mine will vanish soon, and I’ll be left with a shiny collectible that doesn’t do anything. I PROBABLY won’t even be able to trade or sell it to recover a bit of what I spent. It feels bad to see the timeline shortened after players had already looted them and before we saw if they were even OP.
Final Thoughts
Despite all that, I don’t regret it. It’s been fun watching the Eye change how I play and push what I thought I could do. I learned a lot about training, burnout, and how fast 1,278 FHCs can disappear when you aren’t paying attention.
Now it’s time to check out of the luxury hotel life (thank f**king god, you don't even know how many times I've wasted energy with FHCs) and get used to living on energy drinks again. Training will slow down, the caffeine will go up, and the Eye will fade into a distant memory of mine but it was one hell of a year while it lasted.
