Here is my entry for Laughing Stock. As someone who is terrified of clowns and was unlucky enough to be placed in the scariest team of all time, I decided to make a cute and colourful banner to avoid wetting my knickers each time I visit my profile.
I hope you like it and I love all the entries so far, excellent job all round! Good luck to everyone who is taking part in Elimination this year - have fun! :-)
Thank you for such an uplifting post and kinds words Fidel - they are so deserved for this absolutely INCREDIBLE team. I cannot stress enough how much motivation, spirit and support came through from the active players day after day, despite how things played out.
As this was my first proper elimination I was nervous with no idea what to expect, but it certainly wasn't to feel like I was amongst friends & family for these days spent together... what a lovely surprise this was. So - whilst I am sad to leave the competition - I am significantly more sad to leave you guys :-(
A very big and special thanks to RebelOnline who taught me 1. what a push call is and 2. how to do it to perfection! First a stranger and now my friend, thank you for being supportive and very patient with a hopeless noob.
To our lovely leaders and (insert entire active player list here) who went above and beyond, I say a HUGE thank you for making this potentially the best elimination I'll ever take part in. We fought and we fought from day one - never losing our spirit, our smiles or our minds.
If the team atmosphere was different but we had reached #1, I still wouldn't feel as good as I do today. We did everything together as a real team from our beginning to our end and that is the best feeling ever :-)
Thank you EVERYONE in the team who allowed me to take the role of calling without any fuss or distrust in my 'nobody' status and gave me a chance to contribute whilst you all stood on the frontline doing the most important job of all. I would gladly call pushes for 100 hours more if it meant we could keep fighting together.
We entered this competition blind, we got given this horrific name (thanks again to the Torn Gods for exacerbating my fear of clowns LOL), we got ticketed out immediately and kept our spirits high, then we got flattened and we still managed to fight it out for a long while with a smile before we finally went out together, as a team, which is exactly where I'd choose to be.
Thanks ALL for your new friendship, memories and a good fight. And of course, for putting up with the (undoubtedly tiresome) self-appointed cheerleader.
Massive congratulations to ALL who are in the game still - alliance or not, I now see how tough this event is on mind and body so I wish you all very good luck in the upcoming days.
I'd like to contribute a positive comment to bring the thread back on track or end it on a good note.
It is a real shame there need be a pride month at all, as everyone should have been accepted for who they were from day one with no oppression or fighting for rights. But I'm pleased the world is changing and I hope one day you guys won't suffer a single negative comment for simply being you. I hope you guys enjoyed celebrating pride month.
You can't choose who you are attracted to, how you look, what colour your skin is or the place on the map you were born... But you can choose to be kind, considerate, understanding and empathetic. Whenever you have a choice, always try hard to make the right one.
To all who are hurt by the negative comments, keep your heads high and your smiles wide. You get one life and the only person going on that ride every second of the way is YOU. If someone doesn't like you, well who cares, they don't have to come with you...
To anyone who came here to be intentionally hurtful, your opinion is your own but it is time to learn to allow others to live their one life how they wish. Hurtful words can last a lifetime and whilst Torn related topics may encourage mischievous behaviour due to the game's nature, when it comes to in-real-life related threads, please just be kind :-)
I would like to suggest removing tickets entirely and creating a points system instead. The points could be reset to zero daily with a team eliminated per day. Teams accrue points with every kill of another team and every revive on their own team, making a healer feel more relevant too.
Group missions can be added to provide a points bonus... for example "complete XXX kills in less than 10 minutes - 250 bonus points". The missions could change daily and we only know the requirements 1 day before, requiring constant planning and teamwork to nab those bonuses.
A reward could be added for a daily 1st & 2nd place ... such as bonus starting points the next day or a 'team cache' full of goodies... Some way to provide a noticeable but not overpowered advantage to their next day.
My second idea was to make eliminations similar to a sports league, randomly matching teams to fight each other as they move through the league into the semi-finals and the finals. Both teams start with X amount of tickets and once one team is reduced to 0 they're out.. could do a scheduled battle so people can watch the teams separately and to give a bit of breathing room between 'matches'.
Both ways would reduce all the drama llama and makes it more about the regular members fighting hard to win. I could be way off but it was worth sharing the ideas at least :-)

Oh blimey, the only thing I can take from this is that I must be a dinosaur if MP3 players are now outdated to society...
I spent my childhood using a pencil to wind back the cassette tape that got eaten by the record player and sitting by the radio for hours ready to push record for my favourite song.
Well done to all of you! You fought hard and deserved to go far. I hope you guys had a lot of fun together and made some good friends along the way :-)
I think it's a wonderful game and I absolutely loved it, though I do prefer their Fallout series. As for advice, don't get off your horse when you're on a steep mountain. In fact don't take your horse near any mountain, or slope, or small hill.
I spent ages saving up to buy one and a few minutes later watched it roll down the cliffs into the sea and float away. Sad :(
*Raises hand* Yep! Have created my fair share of human leather hats and watched many-a-colony burn in fire over the years.
As for favourite games - too many, need to find outdoor hobbies... The last game I played was Far Cry 5 to sweep up on 100% but those multiplayer achievements have punished me for being too late to the party. The games I play most, at the moment, are Fallout 76 or Prison Architect :-)
I also started playing the newest Farming Simulator as usually enjoy business sims, but got fed up spending 99% of the time with a tractor upside-down in a bush, not ideal.
I understand the original point, however, Chedburn is running a business. A business needs to have monetary gains to pay it's running costs. If you remove the DP shop and remove the subscription, you remove income channels for the business bar donations (which would need to be significant).
Despite the slimline design of this website, the server costs alone would still be significant, serving instant load times across the globe to a consistent high number of visitors... then you have all those other delightful outgoings such as wages, utilities, professional fees and our favourite friend, taxes... the owner should also see a financial benefit themselves in dividends. It sure adds up.
No money coming in means the game would close. Or, the horrid alternative... we are forced to watch popup adverts in between every few pages clicked with banner ads all over the place, eww.
If the rewards we get as subscribers are too large then people will be at a noticeable disadvantage if they can't afford to sub, at which point everyone would feel forced to have no choice but to part with real monies to keep up. Then, this thread will be replaced with another issue because you simply can't please everyone, so this is a happy halfway where nobody is forced in either direction.
Pay if you would like to support the game and earn some little goodies plus reap benefit of a DP. Or, buy the DP with Torn money and you'll only forgo a few goodies on the doorstep that are not imperative in keeping your account on par with subscribers. I think it's just fine :-)
Even though rBree2 would have been given a plethora of supplies if she had asked in chat or discord, why should any player have to donate their own hard-earned items to somebody who has 0 hits in 4 days? What about natural E?
When I asked her to please reconsider her comment for the sake of the team, she said there was nowhere to ask for help. I referred to the supplies form/spreadsheet, the forum post, the discord supplies channel and the chatroom - she told me that the chat never flashed green, but when she misclicked and opened it, there weren't messages coming through (?)
On one hand I considered that maybe she just doesn't understand the game very well yet, but on the other hand she managed to find the forum to request a free clown mask and understands how to send things to the newspaper, plus fibbed about a dead chat to someone who literally spammed it.
But you know what? It honestly doesn't matter... it's just one small comment in the newspaper. We know what we did for each other and that's the main thing. Miss you guys :-)
That's not exactly true though, is it Lilly? :-) I may argue that joining a team and providing no hits but popping up in chat randomly to swear at people is equally as 'pathetic'. That said, I do hope you have better luck next year and find a team you will enjoy.
It was such great fun to go in blind and whilst I have no previous elim experience I can imagine it forces players to work well with others whom they might not normally choose to give the time of day, which is nice in a way. I would say it is a good idea!
I was very pleased with my pot luck results and wouldn't choose to be anywhere else now, despite the terrifying clown theme. When clicking the button I thought to myself...
"1 in 12 chance, it's fine, I won't get the scary one."

I posted to say that it's not nice to laugh about death on a thread that was made specifically to pay respects, hence the title "RIP Queen Elizabeth". You responded and said that I can excuse genocide but not allow laughter.
This is why Batman said you are "reaching far". You took my post made from a place of kindness and jumped from that all the way up to genocide, an extreme leap. He's not once challenged your opinions, just the unnecessary comment.
You do of course have a right to your opinion but that means everyone else has a right to theirs too without being told they're supporting/excusing genocide. Opinions and respect should be used together though.
I have my own opinions regarding the monarchy and it's history, some positive but some very negative. It's about being considerate to those who are genuinely in mourning and to the loss of a life of a woman who, to many of us, was the only constant in an ever-changing world. If the original comment was constructive and respectfully put I wouldn't have said it was unkind, but posting jokes, memes and "hahahaha" is intentionally cruel.
If you want to discuss any issues with the Queen or monarchy then perhaps, as an idea, you could make a separate post whilst others could pay their respects in this thread without being linked to something so heinous as genocide. That seems like a happy halfway!
Anyway, I hope we can put in a pin in that now and I hope you have a nice evening :-)
Why does my opinion that it's unkind to laugh at the loss of human life mean that I support genocide.. why would you say that to me, that's horrible :(
