Ive said it before and i'll say it again! You need to stop cutting corners and always seeking the CHEAPEST solutions for the game, i mean hell, if the game were under-budget sure i'd get it! But you guys are LITERALLY CONSTANTLY boasting about how you are like 2-3X OVER-BUDGET on the donations page!!!!!
F****ng stop with the bullcrap and pony up more than bare minimum for things already! Anyone would think you don't care about the game or the players with how much you always skimp out on things like DDOS protection etc, Cloudflare isnt exactly the ONLY DDOS protection out there, its one of the worst, and lets be honest, the extra $ per month for a vastly better DDOS protect would do NOTHING to your budget projections, it's quite simply (and clearly) a desire to keep your pockets nicely lined with the extra profits..
Basically, if you care about the game, you'll pony up and spend some of those 2-3X over-budjet profits on making the game better and more secure, not on giving yourself shiny new toys IRL. Product over profits. Simple.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but if you really did care about the game all that much you wouldn't be 2-3X over-budget with numerous glaring issues, you would be a fraction over budget, with zero glaring issues dragging down the quality of the game. FACT!
(And before anyone says it, wages, game resources, and 3rd party assistances like DDOS protection would all come under budget total, so that isnt why they leave it sooo much over budget, the over budget without actually resolving these issues as efficiently is pure profit-mongering. Its despicable. Yes i will keep paying for my subscription whilst i am playing, but that is purely for the simple reason i would drop behind massively in my progress without it. not because i think they deserve my money atm. Because until they start to care more about the game itself than the profits.)
PS: If this gets instantly closed, we will all know it's because they know i'm right and don't like being called out on it!
Guys kind of obvious they now know its a serverwide issue, no sense hooranging them with "This is unplayable" (or variants) Just need to let em know we are all suffering and that all pages seem to be susceptible :) I am sure they are working on it and will have it back up for us soon enough ^-^
You really arent reading are you? i never claimed those two were linked, i never even hinted cloudflare was linked to cmpetitiveness, i said it is causing 1 minute delays every time it decides to kick in, and is causing the same whenever i open any new browser tab with torn open, or refresh any other tab.
I am also not the only one affected, the lotto discord servers have tonnes of folks (and received a couple direct messages since i posted this) who are also suffering the same and worse, ranging from people having to close and re-open the game multiple times, to even get cloudflare to start it waiting screen, to the game just never leaving the cloudflare screen.
Granted i hadn't even goptten to the second part yet because of all the belittling from folks on this post (to be expected though, its torn.)

Must be Level 15 or higher, or expected to reach that level/financial stability in good time!
Must be ACTIVE in Torn, building your battle stats, crime stats and levelling consistently outside of chaining events.
Must respond to chats during chains, vote in polls and respond to emails and newsletters that require a reply.
Must be a TEAM player with a great attitude...willing to follow directions, be helpful and take constructive criticism as well as you take praise.
See..nothing hard at all..in fact, these are things you do everyday in the game anyway!

Bug still occurring, made my own thread since i wasnt aware one existed, cause i would have thought you guys would have fixed something this influential by now...

some yes, but the only time i even mentioned wanting to remain competitive is that that is why new players require sub/dopnator status, and is the only reason i currently sub, as soon as i can afford to in game i shall be switching to packs bought from the market if this lack of care persists because i shan't keep paying for a game to not improve and break when the fixes are simple (and merely require more of the profits to actually be fed back into the game).
Uhh, nope, cloudflare is always what they turn to when they need DDOS protection from what ive seen..
Again, it's not the players job to fix the game, its the players right to say what needs fixing and put them in the right ballpark, and i have suggested more than just 'in the right ballpark for the things that are wrong, IE a player test server to prevent things breaking the game upon release, better DDOS protection that doesnt impact players (like one which has actual performance without stopping the game and any otther page the player has open for up to a minute apiece), As for your other points you can try goad me all you want but its there, if you really cant see it i suggest re-reading it or get a new perspective.
As for your suggestion that my core view behind any of this is "whaaa why am I not as strong as people who've been here longer than me in this time-based game" Then you madam need to get a personality test, because i am well aware that i will never be stronger than most people older than myself, theres no point in aiming for that as a non wallet warrior, i simply want to remain competitive against those of my age range. As clearly stated several times above.
You said it yourself, you have been playing long enough you dont NEED donator status to remain competitive. AS A NEW/NEWER PLAYER you simply cannot remain competitive without it. This has been proven many numerous times. Theres whole forums about it (yes forum, not thread)
And clearly its mainly those older players like yourself who dont seem to care about the state of the game, and to be honest at this point its looking to us newer folks like the main reason for this is because you dont want more folks brought to the game, or to remain interested, you all just seem content with how it is because "if we've been putting up with it how it is for so long, why should we care about seeing it improved further" < Literally how you guys are sounding right now. Sorry - Not sorry.
Again, re-read. 5 seconds for those who have perfect internet maybe, a minute average per page load for those with worse internet, and again if you had read, the cloudflare is only tthe most recent 'cherry on top' the real issue is them cutting corners because they want to keep more profit instead of putting it back into the game. if folks wanna continue to troll me on this be my guest *Laughs ass off* But the real losers of that happening are every single player in the game. I'm merely trying to shed light and bring attention to the fact this game could be 1000 times better if corners stopped being cut and more of the profits went back into the game instead of lining pockets. For those clearly not reading, the issue is the constant cut corners, yes cloudflare is the cherry on top i used to bring attention to this, but use your eyes and read properly, main issue i am trying to highlight is the "Cheapskate" issue.

Kinda obvious that gratifying their willingness to cut corners when they could easily do better by simply spending some of those profits, counts as pandering.
If you actually bother to read, the title is just the current main issue, and my post on here covers the fact they are pfrequently cutting corners; want another example? Christmas town comes to mind... Instead of having all those glaring bugs from the offset and working through them as christmas town counter counted down meaning some folks esp mobile users couldnt even play it, they could have simply opened a player test server (if they had dopne this years ago, the could use it for literally all major bug iron outs instead of the game literally breaking with major updates, Dirty Bombs also springs to mind... AKA have a sever set up with yes a smaller playerbase, but still enough that it can test the strain on the main server when such updates are released preventing such major game breaks and only having more minor bugs upon main release instead of game breaking ones. Or if such a server already exists, expanding the testing playerbase so that those issues DONT occur upon main release, its pretty simple)
You also seem to be missing the main point that a lot of the third party related issues could all be solved if they were not skimping out with cheap and relatively crap third party solutions. We as the players should not have to be coming up with the solutions for them when we pay them money to subscribe or get donator status. Or as some folks do, pay through the teeth to get ahead in the game. We pay them to develop and maintain the game, not to fix it for them. Pretty simple really.
ALSO: To those saying "Its only 3 seconds wait time" MAYBE if you have a pristine 2+gigabyte connection speed, takes me nearly a full minute to connect when cloudflare pops up, let alone the fact it forces my browser into doing a cloudflare holdup on literally EVERY tab i open or refresh when i have the game open. FACT!
Because its not MY job to come up with that, its kind of what they are paid to do no? But okay you want examples, OVH ddos protection for one.
If it were my job to come up with the alternatives i'd be getting paid to, instead you want me to what? Do their jobs for them whilst paying them?! I think you need to re-evaluate what being paid to do something means mate.... Sorry, but it's true, we pay them to come up with ways to improve the game and keep it secure, we shouldn't have to be the ones also telling them how to do so.... Don't you think?
As for the difference between over and under budget, not at all. over-budget means the income exceeds the budget as is clearly boasted on the donations page, under budget would be if that white dotted line dipped below the black dotted one.

Would be even better if you had a limit per country, but could not revisit a location youd travelled to in one trip out of torn too :P in my opinion anyways! Aka if you travelled UAE but there was nothing you could travel to say SA like he suggested and get flowers/plushies there, but then could not return to UAE, but COULD travel on to switzerland and grab some chamois or eidelweiss (but maybe expand it so you could only fill a (second) suitcase in the next location, and obvs if you built up enough to own enough suitcases for each location you could potentially fly to each place in turn and then fly home with an assortment of items from every location.... If none of the locations had run out of said items that is!!)
