Hey guys, I made a free script to get the best price from a list of traders (updating prices on average every 50 - 70 minutes). It calls an api I am hosting so there are few torn api calls and no user side processing besides displaying elements.
The script only searches for Torn Exchange traders due no updating marker on other sites (i.e. pricelist last updated 2 hours ago) in order to keep a list of active traders
The script requires a minimum of one api call (two there are any updating api calls) for each price request for verification purposes (Note: if all traders status are updated no api calls will be made besides the verification ones)
There is a rate limit of 500 calls before being blocked every 12 hours. If you need more message me
Do note that traders (especially ones with large price lists) will sometimes miss updating the prices of items, displaying them as way higher than market price. Try trading to other traders suggested by the script or renegotiate pricing if that is the case.
Traders suggested may or may not be trustworthy, self hospitalize/check recent trades on their trading thread to be safe.
This script is currently in beta so there may be bugs included. For any suggestions/bugs or adding/removing your name from the trader list please message me on Torn or (preferably) Discord o/
Used to be a reviver that left a few months after the revive rework, what is the state of revive factions and reviving itself?
Are there any big changes that I would like to know?
Recived around 6k job points as principal and work stats are (Manual Labor: 47,699/Intelligence: 74,786/Endurance: 70,404). What would be the best way to spend the points?
It doesn't seems to be that I lost many places in revivng (used to be 68 now 114) so is reviving tuned down or is there just less wars?
What was the reasoning behind disabling the bazaar/market during hospitalization but not trading? Seems counterintuitive that you can trade items from players but not buy or view a bazaar. For example, imagine I get hospitalized and need to purchase morphine. My only options are to either.
ask someone to buy morphine on market, send it to me/trade with me,
talk in trade chat for someone to trade me morphine, or
ask somone to check the morphine market usernames then message them to trade the items to me
edit: hope that my faction has the required morphine
Which all basically the same thing as buying from the bazaar. Is there a reason why it was designed this way?
edit: ok morphine is not a great example as it's a common medical item, but what about cases of more niche and expensive medical items like neumune tablets? If a dirty bomb occured and I'm in the hospital to radiation poisioning should I not be able to buy a tablet through the market instead of the methods above?
I've seen conflicting statments that you are not allowed to use multiple api keys to curcumvent the 30 second cashe like this saying that it is not allowed to use other user's api keys to curcumvent the cache. However, I have seen threads like this of people buying api keys. So is using other players api keys allowed or banned?

I believe its so that muggers still have a fair shot at getting to you before the money is stored somewhere long term.
You need to at some point leave the hospital to store the money long term, Yes you can put it in a ghost trade but that expires after 6hrs.
Even if ghost trades didn't exist (ex. money isn't sent until a trade is confirmed) I could simply just send the money to somone I trust without anybody knowing.
Also, how is a 6 hour window where you have to guess when they withdraw the money, not even all at one, considered a fair shot for muggers? Even if it was a 5 minute expiration period I could simply ghost trade somone else and refresh the timer. It would be fine if ghost trading was only possible outside of a hospital as a method of cash storage rather than cash protection, but 6 hours (indefinetly if refresh) is too long.
In the end my point was that you can buy stuff by simply messaging people to trade items for me (ex. I can just message a trader to buy items which they would prefer because there is no buy mug risk) is relatively the same as buying items, there is just more hassle.
Imo hospitalization should restrict actions rather than information from a gameplay and realistic perspective. I shouldn't be restricted the prices of items but I should not be able to buy/trade to get those items.

Extremely strange. So you have to manually configure additional api keys to follow the 30 second rule even though it by default is bypassed? Why doesn't torn just cache similar api calls from the same IP rather than an api key if it is not allowed to be bypassed? There already is a 1000 api call limit per ip so I assume it should come with the call.

In general, I think that the new update discorages new players from entering reviving. Origionally, the only challenge in becoming a reviver was getting the surgeon job in the hospital, which wasn't too bad. Ched himself said is that he didn't want people However, most revivers won't actually profit until they hit the 70-80 skill range which is a huge investment of E.
However, i think that those who reach 100 skill level can have really good chances of profit. However, it is WAY more competitive. You need to be able to scan faction's for hosped people over the revive limit (revive contracts almost always have a %limit) this makes the total amount of money revives factions make much lower, but people who are more active in contracts are paid more which is definetly a positive change.
See something? this thread was created 15 days before the article was even made, before busting was known to be a better method
Freevivers also get benifits (revive skill and merits), but you can get way better revive chances on the last page of the hospital vs the first page, so it is way more efficient to increase skill and revive count to revive 10 second hospitals. Would people be saying thank you if their 10 second hospital was revived? naw
From the newspaper "Another bust chain of 8 really easy busts gave 1.5 arsons worth of CE. " I think that new players like op (aged 50 at the time) would count as "Easy" busts.
Also from newspaper "hard busts do indeed give more CE per nerve than crimes, but easy busts are a waste of nerve" -_-
Revives, bails, and Lawyer Business Card cost money, you think that forcing noobs to pay for them is more kind then giving them for free?
Since torn doen't automatically refrash player status on faction page, automatically refreshing the page every 10 seconds would help. Would this count as scripting or any other offense?
