To steal a car or commit Grand Theft Auto, you will need 1 hammer and 1 coat hanger. the coat hangers are found in the market and tend to be pricey so it is best to save up some cash first. Also, you need at least 12 nerve. and after you have those three things, you can go into crimes and steal a car. I highly recommend stealing a car that is parked instead of highjacking one. also, unless you have played the game for years and have stolen a lot of cars, I wouldn't recommend stealing a showroom car.
