With the age of ranked wars, attackers now have a significant advantage going into a fight. I think this could be reason to add more detailed options for defend settings.
Right now what we have is a purely weighted RNG based system. While until now its worked alright, but with bonuses like home-run, assassinate, finale, bleed, eviscerate coming into the picture - fights have changed significantly.
You want to use an eviscerate melee to mark your opponent in the first few turns and then fully switch to your gun. Right now its not possible as you'd need to put the melee on high to use it early which means even after they are marked, it'll keep using it frequently instead of fully switching to a better gun. Similar conditions for home-run, assassinate melees, bleed, lacerate too.
I think melee usage precision is suffering the most because its usage cannot be controlled with the "reloads off/on" option.
My suggestion would be to add to the Defend settings, 5 slots, each for 5 turns of incoming attack - within each would be the current system we have. So for eg:
0-5 turns: One order of preferences 6-10 turns: Different order of preferences 11-15 turns: Possibly another order of preferences etc and so on for 16-20 turns and 21-25 turns.
Edited to add: A sample of what I am suggesting. The benefit being if someone has an blindside/assassinate/eviscerate/homerun/bleed they can set it to high priority in turns 1-5, lower in turns 5-10 and pretty much at 0 (not necessarily for effects like bleed) in the other slots. Also effective for debuff effects like weaken/wither etc
Similarly, someone with a finale weapon can have it set to 0 in the slots for 1-5, 6-10 and have it increase in the latter ones especially 16-20 and 21-25. Execute/Comeback would also benefit greatly from it. Similar for parry as guns (armas specially) often run out of ammo in the latter stages of a fight (unless conserve)
The underlying system stays the same as what we use currently its just that its more discrete and allows for better accuracy/effectiveness.
Simple and straightforward suggestion. Please add DBKs to melee caches.
Similar weapons like macana 57-62 dmg and 65-70 acc (normal stats) are in the drop pool. DBK has 60-65 dmg and 62-67 accuracy. Metal nunchakus are 61-66 dmg and 60-65 accuracy
Dmg x Acc comparison for the 3 weapons Macana: 3705 - 4340 Metal Nunchakus: 3660 - 4290 DBK: 3720 - 4355
They have nothing game breaking compared to the already existing macana and metal nunchaks. Would love to see one of the most standard torn city weapons being finally added to caches. Cheers.
Hi everyone, I've just signed in after 8 minutes of inactivity. I'm looking for pointers in order to get back into the game and get the ball rolling. Any help or advice is appreciated. All i can remember really is that back in the day crimes 2.0 was about to release soon.

1) Orange 35% Bleed Yasukuni Sword: Goes perfectly with your hard hitting primary and is better than a bread knife with its damage on the turns it won't proc.
Nah, it wasn't any of the Woogs. What I am walking about was on the 11th and in ingame team chat, don't think the logs go that far back. I didn't want to name said person in public.
We was going to have a bot moderate it and that was down to me to sort, along with basically every other tech solution/issue. However durin the time i was setting this up my body decided to self hosp me irl and I was unable to get everything sorted that we wanted and priorities had to be looked at. Making sure our dashboard was fully working and all the other useful shit we had was all working became more important than a discord moderation bot.
Absolutely fair enough. In the end health comes first of course and definitely better safe than sorry.
On the chat embargo, fair if I missed some context there but I do think it could have been conducted more nicely. There were like a couple occasions I noticed when someone came in saying "Hey good luck guys, I'm out of e."/ a noob asking a question around 4-4.5 mins before a push and one of the leads just asked them to "STFU". Was kind of a turnoff.
The message could have been gotten across in a better way especially considering some weren't trolls and genuinely trying to make the chat more sociable.
Probably the biggest disadvantage of having a lead who has been captain/co quite a few times before. To some extent people probably know what to expect.
One instance where it would have been better to be a shadow-council maybe instead of named leader.
1) NSFW channel on discord is just weird. Nobody needs that. What do people even expect when they share porn on discord? Except for broadcasting what kinda shit you watch. Having an nsfw channel in elims discord is kind of an immediate turnoff for me personally. Personally glad our discord didn't have that.
2) I think the screenshot doesn't show full context. Once the creep pedos were banned from the sever + torn and their accounts reported to discord, the brief clamor was for mainly to enforce stricter moderation (using a mod bot + discord native automod features + a moderation team) but bring back gif/image perms. Its kinda understandable because while its 100% not helpful to winning, for people outside of leadership - elims is a shoot at pointed targets event so some kind of social engagement helps keep people interested in a event where people are socializing outside of their faction once a year.
However if leadership didn't have time to setup all that, its understandable they took the safest approach. It is what it is and better to be safe than sorry for sure.
3) That one aside, I do feel personally there was a couple instances where I think the ship was run way too tightly. One instance being asking for a chat embargo a whole 5 minutes before a push tick in the ingame chat and it being enforced quite rudely at times which kind of kills the vibe for a new player asking questions about the event/trying to cheer up the mood in there during the 10v2.
4) Didn't personally agree with Andyman as leader when his whole pitch was not having time to fully lead and only trusting him to pick the 5 vcs. I would have preferred someone like Marincko to take the official handle (since he was campaigning early too and was the only experienced candidate aside from AM) and chosen 5 VCs instead. But at the end to pool votes Marcinko dropped out of the race and then there was no choice other than AM. Better him than some random noob.
5) On the final placement, not every team can win and sometimes teams are earmarked early to be eliminated. Just one of those years sadly and how the chips fall.
EDIT: Do NOT message me unless you are atleast hiring for a Pub. I do not want to see offers from you mining/TV/PSF fucks. If I wanted to be in one of those, I would just stick to my current company which has a 10/10 director.
I would still be curious to see what would happen on incentivizing factions with non monetary bonuses. Especially if figuring out termed vs non-termed wars systematically proves to be a problem,
Something like:
1) Passive bonuses like increasing gym gains/passive stats/rehab bills tied into rank (not too much but still enough to be worth fighting for)
2) Keep cache rewards exactly as it is currently.
3) Additonal buff/debuffs for winning or losing a war. Stronger buffs on win streak. Stronger debuffs on loss streak. This would be capped though to a limit.
Basically make it quite punishing for a faction to take a loss. Even if a richer faction wants to pay off a win - it would need to be very worth it,
I am quite happy with the lead thresholds personally in wars right now. It shouldn't be too short to cause an extreme disadvantage if one faction starts off in a stronger tz
As for rewards, if judging whether its a termed / real war proves to be a challenge in scaling rewards based on that, I wouldn't mind seeing incentives for factions to chase a win - stuff like passive rewards tiered to each rank and within divisions. So that it encourages factions to not give away a loss and chase a win instead to climb up higher.
Sure some rich factions might want to pay off the other fac for a win - but then pretty much every system can be gamed through social interaction in a game like this and you'd have to imagine faction leaders would charge something exhorbitant to give up higher tier passive bonuses (say bonus gym gains/CE gains and such)
If we wanna ball, in addition to passive bonuses tiered to the rank, there could also be temporary passive debuffs for losing the previous war. And passive bonuses/debuffs on top for win streaks/loss streaks.
In essence the difference is a little bit of control. Mercs are simpler to blanket use on every offlines while bounties sometimes take time to get claimed within short periods of control.
There's also the fact that you can specifically ask for strikens+full hosp merits which you lose when you just do it via bounties
I don’t know if you’re new here, so I’ll let you off the hook this time. Using emojis is frowned upon here on this great site, and for good reason. Instagram normies often use them, and you don’t want to be a normie, do you?
If I catch you using an emoji in the future, I’ll be forced to issue a downvote to your comment. Why should you care, you may ask? Well to begin, you will lose karma on your account, which is a useful social status tool and also a way to show others you know your way around Torn.
If you were to continue the use of emojis, I would be forced to privately message you about your slip-up. Any further offenses past that would leave me no other option than to report your account. I don’t think I have to explain why you don’t want that.
But anyways, no harm done yet! Follow these simple rules and you’ll enjoy your future on Torn! Have a blessed (and hopefully emoji-free) day, stranger.
