I recently did an excel sheet on the Acts Of Courage (AOC) in Russian Roulette and how useful they are. First off, lets establish a baseline. Going first and second in a game without any AOCs are the same, and I rate the chance to kill as a 92 and the chance to die as a 92.
Acts Of Courage:
If you have Acts Of Courage unlocked, which happens after 25 Russian Roulette wins, you can shoot twice.
When to use an Act Of Courage:
If you go first:
You should use two AOCs. When compared to a 92 kill 92 death for a normal round, using two AOCs has a 120.33 chance of death and a 125 chance to kill (it's a linear scale). This makes using two AOCs marginally better than playing normally if going first. Only using one AOC is not as good as using two in this situation.
If you go second:
Use an AOC on the first shot and then play normally for the rest of the game. This gives you a 95 chance of death and a 150.33 chance to kill the other player.
If your opponent uses an Act Of Courage:
If your opponent uses an AOC while going first, there is no counter play, but if he uses on while going second, you can choose to use an AOC or not use an AOC. It will be the same odds either way. However, you should always act of courage going first so this should never come up.
Summary:
Going first, double act of courage. Going second, single act of courage then normal. If the other guy uses an act of courage before you do, play normally and pray

You just experienced the casino’s actual edge. The longer you stay at the table and the more you increase your bets relative to your bankroll the higher the chance you go broke.
