A poem:
I lay motionless
Forever alone
With thoughts to keep me company
Trapped within what should be my safe place
But alas they scrape, they scream, they cry, at the doorway
Their sobs nothing more than a lure, to drag me away
Was it my mind, or was it a reality?
The windows shook violently as my mind told me to be afraid
But was I too be afraid when there was nothing to be afraid of?
The noises got louder
My head started wringing
The pounding was louder
Sobs turned to screams
Screams turned to screeches
Then the darkness fell, and I accepted my fate
As to what happened next may never be known
Always check behind you
Always
