We sin a lot here in Torn, and that's how we like it! Every now and then, though, our souls need a good cleaning out like the nosel on a soda machine.Just in case the great Torn God isn't watching, your challenge is this:
Do a good dead for someone random and record it here. It can be for someone who posted here, for a noob, for a bully, whatever.
I'll go first: I'll give $1 million to the first person to post here with a good deed of their own.
Guys I PM’d iPsyCheds with the same question and he gave me a lot of good info. Honest and true to his word above. A lot of what he shared was about playing smart. Education in business, increasing ad money and lowering prices to get customers or doing the opposite to make money—especially with the education perk of raising prices 15% without losing customers.
One thing he brought up that I hadn’t considered that he mentioned was using tornstats To know and control as much as you can about employee stats. Anyway, I share that so you can give him some karma.
i’ll also post some basic advice here. I’ll add to it bit by bit as I get time. For now, here are a few somewhat random bits of advice to get you going and a list of helpful guides/links that were previously posted here.
* If you haven’t purchased yet, strongly consider buying one with a good deal of stars. I started my own and it was difficult to keep employees and star up. Very costly too. * folks will tell you not to buy a company at all. Just work for one. You get paid and perks. But we’re all living in Torn for different reasons. Me, I love running a company, even when I’m not making money. It’s a part of the game I like most. * Charging for training helps pay company bills, but remember that the more you can train your employees, the better your business will do. So don’t be afraid to train on rotation. * many companies feel the same to employees. They’re just a means of beefing up money, xd, stats, whatever. I prefer to offer bonuses, run games, send gifts, hold lottos, run races. Why not make it a place that feels like a fun part of the game? * While a Director earns work stats that increase as the company stars up, Director stats don’t help or hurt the company. The same is true of drug use and activity (the latter assumes you do not need to order supplies). * When looking to hire players with good stats, about blindly PMing older players, even if they are working city jobs or have no jobs at all. They are bombarded with these sorts of PMs.
Torn Stats: If d you don't have this, sign up now. There is data out there that will benefit your company greatly. You'll need your API, found here, and then go to the company section and add yours. My favorite tabs are Company Details and Employee Calculator, both under the Companies tab. Stock Order userscript: I discovered this one recently. I had to get Tampermonkey for this one and instead of "install" I just copied and pasted the script. This only helps if you have to order stock like I do. It basically helps you ensure you always have a predetermined number of items in stock and auto-fills the math for you. It's a big time saver for me
I never win these f***ing things. The real p*sser is that I already know some lazy *sshat multi who won’t even read all of the rules is going to win the biggest prize. FML & FU2.
Vagon came to me a while back asking me to join HT-O for the chain. We were in American Military a while back, and I was never a major hitter. He told me he wanted to make it a fun chain, to bring back the races we used to do so we could show everyone a good time. Good dude, that Vagon.
Let’s make the Torn stock market a bit more fun. Instead of occasional money payouts, what about quarterly dividends? Stock splits? Options trading? REITs?
i want to see the market become active and, dare I say it, teach some IRL lessons. Adding real life variety Should make the market fluctuate and encourage players not to just buy their shares and sit on them.
