We are a couple with 3 small children finding ourselves facing hard times this holiday season.
Our family vehicle was recently written off due to an accident in which the other driver fled the scene. Our insurance company has only covered the value of the vehicle, leaving us with an amount owing of $1300.
Due to loss of transportation, we’ve both lost our jobs as we are unable to commute and we are having trouble making ends meet without our extra incomes.
We had given our 60 days notice for our current unit prior to the accident in hopes of relocating sooner with our employment income, but time is running out and we are running out of options.
We have checked with local shelters and were surprised to find our family would need to be separated in order to stay at their facilities. We would love to avoid this for our children if at all possible, especially during this time of year.
We are asking for funds to cover first and last month’s rent so we can relocate closer to my employment as my position is being held and so that my spouse is able to secure employment again and access public transit.
If we receive funds exceeding first and last month’s rent, we would then apply the remainder to our amount owing on our vehicle loan.
Thank you again for reading our story. We thank you for your support. If you are unable to help, please share.
