Haha, it's fine, I think we're all a little loopy today!
I'm also quite into freeform roleplays. Even if there is no "end goal" I am sure something will come up during the play that leads a certain way. It's always good going off the cuff. Honestly, I am pretty easy going about it. I have done a lot of roleplay so whichever way it goes, I am cool with it.
As for a topic, well, I enjoy sci fi, mystery, fantasy, urban, grunge... really anything. I can make it fit. For some odd reason, I got the idea of doing some kind of.. detective style roleplay? I haven't done much like that before.
Let me know if you have any ideas though. I'm eager to start... and if anyone wants to join, let us know!
I'd like lucky number 7, for reasons that will be obvious from reading my character's bio.
Name: Luc Remilliard
Nickname: "Blackjack"
Age (older than 12, younger than 50): 28
Looks: 6'0, 150 lbs. Tall and lean. Pale skin, dark brown hair of medium length, hazel eyes. Young in the face, always looks amused, never serious.
Clothes: Fitted three piece suit (black jacket and pants, white dress shirt). Wears a silver pocketwatch, wears several rings.
Personality: Typically calm. Is not known for making his emotions visible, perpetually seems amused. Finds humor in most situations. Generally carefree.
Likes: Games of chance, redheads, champagne.
Dislikes: When the table doesn't favor him, politics, inescapable situations.
Fears: Darkness.
Weapon of choice: Concealed wrist revolver.
Backstory: Not a ton is known about Luc except that he's got some kind of horseshoe up his ass. It's presumed that he's French, but he's never admitted to such. What is known is that he is extremely lucky, having won a country wide lottery upon buying his first ticket, leaving him very wealthy. When he loses, it seems as though he intends it to be such. He is banned from several casinos worldwide due to his reputation. Known to mingle with high society. Carries lucky casino chips in his pocket.
Motive: Is generally unfeeling. He has ruined many families life savings with little remorse. Some say he is a psychopath with a winning smile, who only cares about being the last one standing.. whether it's at the table, or left alive.
Luc remained mostly aloof to all of this. It was a bad habit of his.. when the cards came out, all focus went to the game. Rebecca's bet was interesting.. most knew not to bet against him. "Call." He remarked, still not looking at his hand. As Rebecca took off, he'd add another card. All of it was mostly trash, no opportunity for a great hand, no matter what he had.
Drew's comment kind of snapped him out of his trance. "Mostly. The ones that still allow me in, that is. I have a reputation... I think they're just sore losers."
Rebecca returned, and he spoke quietly, focused back into the game. "Check." He pawed his fingers over his cards. A pair of aces would pretty much guarantee him a win, in this instance, but what were the chances? Fortune always seemed to favor him.
"I suppose we are like a deck of cards, the lot of us. An ace of diamonds, a queen of hearts. A few number cards, varying suits. But I think this deck has one too many jokers... it's rigged."
Luc paid little attention to anything beyond the deck he was shuffling, and the girl near him. He dealt her a couple cards, and then himself a couple, and he laid out three cards in front of them both. "Mikel Atlas. That sounds like a proper sort. Couldn't come up with a more original name?" He had chewed on the comment from earlier about how he didn't look French, but he kept quiet for now. "Check." He said to Rebecca, even though he hadn't even looked at his cards. He just knew that he had a winning hand. "Perhaps you need to show him your own success. Not all success is measured in dollars. Most of it is, but some... care about more than money. Could you imagine?"
"Atlas?" A smile slid over Luc's face, one of interest, now. "That's a family name I've heard before. Though you definitely don't look like any Atlas I've met before." Luc said, leaning forward, cutting the deck with his hands. His eyes, half-lidded, locked on Rebecca's.
"It would be rude to attend a party and not drink what the host is offering... though I won't lie, Rebeeca, it's fairly cheap wine. Barely aged." He turned his gaze to her, perking a brow, "It's Poker. But I play all types of games. You fancy playing a game, perhaps, while we wait for something interesting to happen?"
Luc shuffled up his deck of cards, and leaned back into his chair when Rebecca approached. His face showed little emotion, though a small bit of a smile slipped over his lips.
He had a full glass of white wine in front of him, which is was clear he barely drank.
"Ah, company. It is in short supply. My name is Luc Remilliard. Charmed."
Luc furrowed up his brows at the Emperor of China comment. "You don't look Chinese, and you certainly don't look like an emperor!" He stepped past the others, but noted Rebecca entering in a huff. "You drove yourself here? Ah, that makes sense."
Luc took up a spot at the dinner table, and looked over the selection. At least the host had some taste. "So what is the point of this, if not a meeting of the Elite? Some..." He glanced at Rebecca, turning his nose up, "...country club meeting?"
The music started to play, and his face scrunched up, just a bit. Where the hell was it coming from? Looking annoyed, he reached into his jacket, and pulled free a deck of cards. "Anyone up for some poker, then?" He smirked, looking at Rebecca. "Don't worry... classic rules. You can keep your clothes on."
Luc stepped inside the mansion with almost complete disregard for the others around him. The guests seemed almost as dull as the decor. Flipping one of his chips in his pocket, he glanced around the room. "Mmmm, I'd have gone with something more modern... let's hope there's a bar." He'd take a few steps around the grand hall, before turning around to greet the guests. "You all recieved invitations too? Peculiar, this. I had heard this was a dinner for only the elite. Yet..." He'd motion at them with his hand, "...ah well. I am sure the host will clear this all up."
A limousine pulled up to the mansion, and a tall, muscular man stepped out, into the soaking rain. Reaching into the limousine, the burly man pulled out an umbrella and opened it over the door. Out of the limousine stepped Luc Remilliard, famous gambler. Adjusting his blazer, he'd step forward, the burly man shielding him from the rain. Stepping up the stairs, the door to the mansion was opened for him by the burly man, who closed it behind him. Luc, now standing alone, looked over the other guests with almost disdain, before remarking, "Now that I've arrived, the party may truly begin."

What did you have in mind for roleplay? Something casual is good, because I can't be online all the time. Are you thinking something simple, or more involved?
