Wow, we made it so much further than absolutely anyone expected. All week everyone has been telling us they were convinced we'd be out next, and yet we kept making it further and further and further until now.

I'm a little upset that our lizard leader Starkiller isn't the one here writing this, but unfortunately it seems he's completely passed out after a lot of very very long nights surrounded by very little sleep. Hopefully he gets the rest he deserves and can leave some awesome essay here when he wakes back up soon enough, as I wasn't prepared for this and have no idea wtf to say. So you get to listen to me babble instead.

It's been such a journey to get to this stage. The voting period was absolutely hectic, we had two candidates that were neck and neck causing our chats to go absolutely ballistic at each other. That much in-fighting is never a good omen and things were always tense to start out, but it wasn't long before we all straightened it out and focused on a common enemy.

A big shout out to our amazing push captains that had to put up with so much bullshit throughout the week, I know you guys had a really tough job. Even bigger shoutout to our other helpers, from KCB and her "sexy voice chat tutorials" (thanks sugarvalves) to our armoury people dealing with thousands and thousands of items, all of our volunteers that really really showed up. Some of our push captains were putting in long long shifts, dealing with constantly changing orders, trolls in chat, and straight up hostility from some members and they all did really well. I'm not going to list off individuals or the list would get too long and sappy, but you guys know the amazing work you did. 

To all our lovely lizard lads, lizard ladies, and lizard......... legends? We're all so so proud of you, us in leadership could not have had a more solid team, you guys should genuinely all be so so impressed with the way you showed up. The heavy hard pushes to keep RS alive for as long as we did, and then pushing ourselves to manage to get SS out, it was all incredible.

I want to give a huge shout out to a couple teams - Rocket Scientists, High Voltage, and Loose Cannons. Together we managed to help LC pull off one of THE most incredible come backs I've ever seen, and I just wish they could have stayed in the game longer to see it. To RS as led by my best friend, I cannot thank enough how fun you were to work with even after we accidentally misclicked and blindsided you earlier. And to High Voltage, I really hope you guys can go on to win it here, you guys really gave it your all to try and keep us alive and I just hope that wasn't all for nothing.

And not to give compliments to the dirty scary opponents, but to SS, you guys have my 100% respect on how you went out. You had two options and chose to go out fighting like true cavemen, and regardless of which side we were on I will always respect you for not selling out for an extra spot. Thank you for giving us so much fun on those pushes, they were brilliant and I can speak for our entire team when I say that we were all losing our minds every single time.

Anyway, I'm going to cut this here otherwise I'll rant for fucking years and you'll never get to the bottom of it. Thank you to our brilliant lizards with their hard hard work, we're so proud of you, and hopefully we're all back again working together next year :)

Came here to post the same bug, it should probably ignore all anchor tags and not just the username.

A little more opinionated, but imo on mobile, you should be able to tap outside of any messages to "deselect" the current selection rather than selecting the message to the left of this option. I can put it in a seperate bug report if necessary, but possibly no point doing so if it's not a UX pattern you agree with. See pic for example, tapping the red squiggle should remove the selection (not touching any bubbles)

I think a seperate takeaway from this conversation should be the market for a first-party way to do some of this stuff, specifically RW betting seems to be the primary one.

I personally would absolutely be in favour of a seperate casino section that let you post bets that others could book against you. I know a house would never work in this situation, but could very easily let players propose a bet on XYZ war, at odds they define, and float it in a "market" for other players to book.

The major hurdle would be figuring out how to handle things like "void if termed", unsure how you'd like to handle that. 

God I was voicing this the other day to a couple people, they're such a dogshit scummy way to get your riches. And then using referrals to bait people into spamming it everywhere. Awful stuff and makes everyone with their head on straight never look at you the same way again. 

One thing worth mentioning - there are much smaller scale things, like a faction-run lotto where everyone puts in a xan and the "winner" takes the pot, that will probably fall under this unintentionally. I do think their sacrifice will be worth it, but obviously not everyone will agree with me on that.

On the gambling side of things, places like TCP have minigames where you can risk your prize for a higher prize (that levels minigame - forgot what it's called). I wouldn't consider that anything but a little bit of fun considering you can't really "buy in", but it will take some wordsmithing to avoid catching it for sure.
