Sorry in advance for typos. Apparently autocorrect is moody in this text box ;P
Weird fringe case. I created an account three years ago. I suspect I never validated my email at that time and obviously didn't spend any time actually playing the game. I did become reintroduced and just started to play a few (2-3ish) days ago. When I went to create a new account it told me I had one registered. Heeding the warnings that the rules are very strict about multi-accounts, I logged in with the one I created those years back and didn't think anything of it. Now I've learned a bit more about game mechanics, and I'm starting to realize that I'm victim of an account creation bug. Even though a hadn't validated, the age timer on my account (and therefore character) was started. However, having not fully validated, I wasn't accruing offline gains or benefits such as in-city items, energy refill gifts, etc. So, I'm now in a situation where I spend hours in the hospital and lose $ to muggings because I have no new-player attack protection, but also have none of the benefits of the aged yet inactive account. Worst of both worlds.
I'm not about to delete. It's whatever. If this account age could be reset without a 14-day closure and wipe, I'm all for that. I doubt that's a thing. However, I do want to report the issue so that others don't have the same experience in the future. Basically, make age timer not start until post validation is my suggestion.
