Trading is one of the most common, yet most complicated and hardest way for making money to master in Torn. But if you can master the art and skills of trading, you are set to make big money for yourself. This guide is for newer traders who wish to get set on trading or at least have interest in trading. Now, I may not be the most experienced player to be writing a guide, but i truly wish to help out newer players to rise to the ranks of the famous traders out there.
Trading means to buy and sell goods or services, that's the simplified version of the definition of trading. Well, in Torn, where trading is common, you can find sellers for any kind of goods, and buyers for any kinds of goods. Commonly, people here use the Trade chat to advertise their services and goods they sell, either through their bazaar or through direct trade.
Never agree to any offers that could be potential scams, these include someone saying "How about, you send me that item of yours, once i receive it I will pay you double the price?" It's clearly a scam, use the in-game trade feature when starting trade with anyone. Also, you can check how many friends the person has compared to how many enemies the person has. The more enemies than friends, means he or she, could be a scammer.
Tip #1 - 100 item buying limit Use the 100 item buying limit in city shops everyday, you can make solid profit and money from buying either beers, candy or plushies from city stores and selling them to the traders above, they'll buy your items for a good price. You can buy 100 beers from Bits N Bobs at 10$ each, and sell them to a trader/buyer for 700$-800$, that's already at least 69,000$ profit there. Do it everyday and you can make a minimum of 69,000$ profit. To some, it may not seem like much, but it's decent money for newer players.
Tip #2 - Use money, to grow more money A good way to make more money, is to use the existing money you have to grow more money. It's the way many big traders make more money in Torn, the only thing is, you need SEED MONEY. You can make some money from using Tip #1 up there, but if you are trying to hit it big in trading, it won't suffice. One way is to sell losses, called by the community as "slutting". Which is to attack someone but purposely lose, I will link another forum post which explains slutting below, check it out later. Slutting, can make you a good amount of seed money, which you could spend on bigger more profitable investments. You can use 800,000$ to buy Xanax, sell it to another trader or buyer for 830,000$, that's 30,000$ profit there! Do it repeatedly and you can earn yourself $1 million in possibly a week, or a few days. Continuously using this method can allow you to improve the items you are trading for profit, everyone starts off somewhere. One day you can start trading the big boy items like donator packs, boosters, FHCs, Energy Drinks etc.
Tip #3 - Travelling to make money The first tip, is for players before level 15. This is for when you have reached level 15 and after. Okay, you've reached level 15 and you can fly now, making money is easier, you can fly to other places around the world, buy stuff there for cheap, come back to Torn and sell it for a better, more profitable price. You can buy plushies, flowers, drugs, weapons, clothing, armor, collectibles and much more outside Torn for a cheaper than market price. The further the place you are flying to, the more valuable and profitable the items are going to be. Because since, it takes a long time to reach the place, people are lazy and not willing to sit in-front of their screens for 2-3 hours just to buy a few dozen items, although it is profitable. So if you are willing to put in the effort, you can make profit. I will link a website that states the amount of stock and type of items that are available in every travellable place.
Last but not least, don't get scammed, and try not to get mugged. These situations could make you lose a lot of money that you worked hard for. Everyone will get mugged, but not everyone will get scammed. If you are very careful, you will not get scammed. So be extra alert when trading, anyone will scam you given the chance.
