New Car Suggestion: A new Class A, AWD. · · 6 likes

I love the racing in Torn, but feel the penultimate Classed Sierra Cosworth being the best in all tiers for what few Dirt/Rally tracks there are, Mudpit being the main, true example.
I'd love to see more entirely dirt tracks (and some dirt-based upgrades for all cars to specialize with,) and one, single new car, to give us a true ultimate Rally Car, the premier Class A AWD pick.
My suggestion would be the Porsche Cayman GT4, a zippy, agile pick.
Or perhaps the Subaru WRX, technically might not be in the same power-class, but it might do.
A third pick, to put another idea on the table, is the Jaguar F-type SVR. It's quite the looker, with power to match.

Honestly, it probably won't make a massive difference to most people, but to me, it'd be cool to have a Class A that can beat out the Sierra with the right mods.

Note: There's also the Bugatti Chiron, but that to me sounds more like a car that'd be extremely rare for Torn. Though insanely powerful. Maybe a Dirt-race tournament reward?

I suppose it was a mild exaggeration, it appears to be only some of them. Could be seeing the top times for B class is what planted that seed in my head, a mis-rememberance.

I only took that attitude from a wearied patience for elitism when it comes to joining a new community. Regarding new people with sneering dismissal, even when they might be wrong in one way or another, isn't helpful. Just gets under the skin and makes all parties more frustrated.
I apologize for if my linguistic tone came off poorly, as I said, I'm just quite weary of the sort of thing.

On the main topic, yes, it's indeed a tricky thing. Obviously the parameters that make the most sense is an AWD vehicle, in real life, for example, we have rally cars, Jeeps, certain models of Subaru, often aimed at being light, having thorough suspension, and a rapid acceleration.
The problem therin, is most wouldn't at all meet the parameters of the types of cars we see in class A, in many respects. The suggestions I offered even sometimes really fall into class B and such, depending.

"Moaning about variety." You sure it's in my head? Pretty sure any negativity you've been perceiving is all in your head. I was just offering an idea for a way to expand upon some of the features in Racing. I have no qualms with the current state, I do find it pleasing, hence why it captures my interest enough to want to discuss some form of expansion. And you weren't offering actual facts (As anyone can look at the top times on tracks, and see that most with a large segment of dirt are led largely by the Cosworth,) you were inferring that I was some whiner newbie, and conveyed contempt for me because of that newness.

I did put thought into it, but am no expert. Hence why I opened a thread, to discuss. Because I wanted input. I got some, but don't find it helpful to get some elitist attitude and get stuck in an unproductive discussion because he thinks I'm complaining.

If they're being talked about, that's great! I was only giving some suggestion. Ched and whomever else might have authority on what's developed have every right to decide exactly what they want to do with their work. This thread is not a demand, not a complaint, just someone who was enjoying the game offering what he thought was a small suggestion, based on the perceived endgame for an admittedly small part of a much larger game.

I didn't say it should be replaced, I merely suggested that if it were to be at all considered, it would best be a different tournament reward. Nothing more, nothing less.

I agree that it's supercar country. Though therin is where a problem with a more dirt-friendly, AWD vehicle would come into play, is that they're more often designed to be agile, handling, acceleration, and a lot of traction. They're not exactly the speed beasts most supercars would be, and thus be nearly only applicable to a more dirt-centric track.

Yes, those cars are fine, I have no problem with those at all. I'm just saying, to open up things as far as race variety, more cars, hopefully even at least one in A class, that is more designed for Dirt-centric races, would become available. With that, as I've stated, also more dirt tracks.
The Cosworth being the top isn't a problem. It's fine, and worthy of being as coveted as it is. However, I just wanted to potentially suggest some additions to the whole of the system, particularly in the case of dirt tracks and cars.

What I did not want, it to be talked down to by a stranger because I've not been spending my entire life playing the game.

The Cosworth is literally the top car on nearly any track with enough dirt, not just mudpit.

Not the same Subaru as the one I suggested, I was sure of it as I was taking care to look at the actual roster of cars before offering suggestions.

The Jag might be, sure, but the thing is there's not a massively clear bottom line I've been made aware of for classes.

Yes, but I wasn't talking about the Veyron. If you read my post, you'd know that. Bugatti is not just one car. It's a make, and the Veyron is just one model.

Maybe read a post and look things up before commenting condescendingly and downvoting.

Gotta love it, I get buymugged, I never buy anything (and never mug people,) and get a little bounty slapped on me too. What a dickhead.

I'll repost it there, as I don't see a way to outright move it there.
