Leslie [15] is clearly the holiest divinity in torn. Untouched by mortal hands, yet his wrath can strike down even the mightiest. The poor and downtrodden make many prayers to him, and he (rarely) gives miracles. And if Jesus had hot sauce, he too would get it on his sweatpants
Oh yes, swearing and attacking my user name. You have convinced me entirely with your compelling arguments.
so how has everyone enjoyed / not enjoyed elimination so far? this being my first elimination I am not certain how it is supposed to go normally and being in revengers that may be skewing things further (or not? i have no idea?). so that's why i ask.
i especially want to know how other newish players are thinking (less than say 800 days old) not that i don't want older people to comment, but being only 250 days old i don't quite relate as much.
personally i think elimination is a good competition. it certainly seems like it could change for the better, but its pretty good, even if i have spent more than 99% in hospital. 1 easy merit and on track for a second and 5 tokens seems to be an okay reward
and i would rather not have any personality drama in this thread, i would like to talk about the systems. (not so much talking about members of a team, but teams as a whole)

_SB_ [1720077], over the course of 9 months, makes ~92 billion in horse racing
then ched takes away the 92billion he has made. and _SB_ [1720077] is complaining?
he gets to keep all the interest he has accrued on the 92 billion he had for all those months. he gets to keep any of the dividends that he got with any stock he had bought. he gets to keep any gains he made from stocks or items appreciating in value
AND HE IS COMPLAINING?
SERIOUSLY?
EDIT : i was just using _SB_ [1720077] as an example, it applies to the rest too

1.) does anyone know the base chance of a treat?
2.) is it affected by leave / hosp / mug?
3.) is it affected by comparative battlestats? comparative level? (in)activity by the target?
upgrading the halloween gives a additive 5% bonus (+5% +10% 15% etc)
4.) the cheapest upgrades to the basket both give 10% - is this additive to basket ? (is for example a +5% basket with both +10% upgrades = 5+10+10=25% or (1.05*1.10*1.10 = 27.05% bonus) (or 1.05*1.20 = 26% bonus)
5.) do the basket and spooky equipment bonuses apply multiplicatively or additively to the base chance? (if base chance is 50%, does a 5% bonus from basket with neither of the +10% bonuses mean 0.5*1.05 = 52.5% treat chance, or is it just 50%+5% = 55%?)
6.) does Cat in hell's " 1 in 500,000 chance with every attack of instantly receiving 1,000 treats." interact with doubler, tripler etc?
quick edit: I am assuming that there is no inherent bonuses to any gear anymore, and the bonuses are tied to the two 10% bonuses in the upgrade tree

does NPC interaction need be be available first? i got to an NPC in one of the prize icon maps, but NPC interaction is disabled
from doubler "This upgrade has a 20% chance of doubling the treats received after an attack"
since it says "after an attack" it seems likely that it wont interact with the two passive income upgrades (1 treat an hour and 0.1% treats per hour).
since it says "after an attack" it seems likely that it wont interact with the two passive income upgrades (1 treat an hour and 0.1% treats per hour).
given that other events seasonal events aren't directly tied to (rare and relatively expensive) items, this would seem unlikely.

21.
Mortal Coil
Receive 1 treat for free every hour while the Halloween Basket event is active.
A trickle of treats for doing absolutely nothing.
Do you want to spend 500 treats on this upgrade?
^this takes 3 weeks to pay itself back
22.
Inflation
The treats in your basket increase by 0.1% per hour while the Halloween Basket event is active.
This covers the rate of Freddo price increases and confectionary shrinkage.
Do you want to spend 777 treats on this upgrade?
^ this is probably even worse need to be holding 1000 treats give equal income as mortal coil ( possibly as low as 501 treats if it rounds up)
needs 1554 treats to be able to pay itself back as quickly as mortal coil if there is no rounding
possibly need the full 2000 treats if there is rounding

Dollars and (non)sense
should mugging rates be somewhat tied to networth? an extra multiplier, related to (networth / cash on hand). doubles (quadruples?) amount mugged as networth approaches infinity, halves (quarters?) amount mugged when cash on hand is equal to total networth?
should mugging rates be tied to comparative networth? - mugging related to (victim's networth/mugger's networth). richer players get less for mugging than poorer players. proletariat rise up against the bourgeois.
both are somewhat possible to game by transferring your networth to a trusted friend for the duration of your mugging - possibly use the avg networth for past month - though more complicated calculations arent so much better - more things can go wrong
this all being somewhat separate to flat/curve base rate and mugging protection.
Somewhat suggestion-y (continuing from someone above's suggestion-y post)
i like the idea of mugging having some more downsides though having a % chance to lose Crime Experience seems a little extreme. changing company specials could have some pushback from people who like the existing company specials.
maybe a chance to be jailed or bountied by an NPC cop a few hours (somewhere between 2 and 20 hours?) after you mug someone, with (some? most? all?) money returned to the victim?
ooooooooooooh, maybe add in a new cop mission provider. prevents you from taking duke missions (and duke missions prevent you from taking cop missions). weren't ched and co having trouble with new mission providers? (or did i dream that?)

elimination already has the most merits out of all the competitions. participation prizes dont really seem needed. the only competition with one is mr / ms torn.
the reward you get for participation is tokens. even on revengers you can get up to 5 tokens for participation, not to mention the already existing merits for 50 attacks (pretty easy) and top 5% of your team (more expensive to get the better your tame goes - is actually easiest if yor team is eliminated early). and those are just rewards for 12th place

only if it takes away a merit point when you get the honour bar instead of adding one
considering the different lengths of time that teams last before elimination. having absolute numbers (like less than 10) is not a great measure of whether or not a player was / is a leech.
ideally it would be (tickets won / ticks lost) ratio.
i would settle for (attacks won/ attacks lost) though, because its hard to filter out attacks won/lost when at 0 tickets
this sort of system leads to an AVERAGE ratio of 1.0, so im not sure where the 'leecher' cut-off is. I personally would guess 0.9 or so, but i haven't looked how skewed the data gets from 700+ attack people on the front pages and 30+ pages of 0 attacks
i think my ratio is 4.48
as an additional aside, it could mean people with 158 attacks won, 19th highest on their team, could count as a leech if they were for example attacked by the entire torn community and lost 200 tickets.
EDIT: or a reasonable credit if they lost only 61 defends

nope. disagree. every team has dead weight, its part of elimination. there were a few times when revengers had ~90% of the team in hospital at once. if you cut 20% of the team automatically, revengers wouldn't have been able to lose tickets! (if you cut people with less than ONE attack out, you would have cut MORE THAN 30%) . i think that everyone agrees that revengers surviving through rounds because your entire team is in hospital and unable to lose tickets would be rather silly
so, respectfully, no. cutting dead weight is a decision that would significantly change how elimination works. in my opinion for the worse

surely you are all missing the point? RR cant make money out of thin air since you aren't playing the house, only playing other people. if it were as broken as you say then people wouldn't play?
Duck and DUDE leadership wasn't the problem. their actual leadership was pretty good.
them being on the team at all was the problem. i am fairly confident if they had completely left the leadership to others we wouldn't have done any better. shit posting in general was going to happen regardless of 'leadership'

i guess that this should show Devs that they need to add a little script which runs once a week and checks how much money everyone makes at the bookie. i suspect there aren't too many people with a win/ loss ratio is above 1 and a profit is above 1 billion after hundreds of bets
stat gains from item usage are factored in- the items cost money and thus are no longer there
from what i can tell, the interest they seem to have just kept
the money made from stats made from money though they also keep
( do you really make much money from having higher battlestats? forgive me for being a novice, but surely battlestats are more about warring and thus respect )
