My personal recommendations as a board game nerd:
Azul-Fun drafting tiles game which is good for beginners
Scythe-Engine game with funny jokes
Forbidden Island/Desert- co-ops where you manage a slowly disintegrating world while trying to get certain artifacts. They are the only good gamewright games, including the third one.
7 wonders- cool card drafting game
Everything by rio grande- all of their games slap, especially dominion and power grid
Ticket to ride- Classic drafting and route planning game
Axis and Alies- Not for the faint hearted, a 4+ hour combat slog. 3d edition is best, 1st is slightly worse. I would not recommend buying the 2d.

Torn is really fun, and I think it would be cool to have official merch to show our TC pride everywhere. Slap the logo on some shirts, hoodies, hats. Not an in game suggestion, but I think it would be cool and would definitely buy a hoodie.
