You implied donating as stupid.
Torn's revenue is from subscriptions and donations. Otherwise there would be lots of ads on Torn making it unplayable without Adblock.
Also Torn's donation system doesn't really come off as play to win. Unlike other games, where players who donate gets special powers or over powered items. Torn gives out donator pack and points as a thank you.
It's acceptable because I can tell you really like this game that's why you stayed here for so long.
So why complain about someone ensuring the game keeps it's standard?

It's not a waste if you enjoy the game. Like going for nightout irl, some people spend alot. Even if it's "just" $100 a night. If you add them all up it's def a huge amount of money.
TLDR: No point in hating someone cause of money. :)
