This is Alani. She is my forever foster, so officially belongs to the rescue I work with. She is in congestive heart failure brought on by being abandoned heavily pregnant and then giving birth to 4 very gorgeous kittens (one of which who died of the same condition when he was 7 weeks old )
Alani has the patience of a Saint and the cuddle capacity of a kitten. She helps me socialise foster kittens and then enjoys the brief respite when they go to their forever homes, only for the cycle to begin again. She gets utterly spoiled as the vet told me she only has 12-18 months. She's now on month 11 and is loving life!
I tried to get some photos of my current two foster boys, but they would barely keep still, and just aren't as photogenic as Alani, so after much deliberation and several hours later, this is the photo I had to choose! I uploaded a couple to my profile for the cat lovers to enjoy :)
Alani is my forever foster cat and she has congestive heart failure so I had to bribe her with a lot of chicken yoghurt treats to keep the stress levels low. She is actually smiling! Oh, and I forgot to write 2020 on! I can't do it again in case she has a heart attack so enjoy, even if it doesn't count!
A cat for me, fits my busy lifestyle. You can't leave a dog for too long but you can a cat. Both are affectionate in different ways, I think a cat is more subtle in its behaviour than a dog, you have to pay attention to know whats going on in its life.
If you do get a cat, I recommend two kittens, or an older cat. An older cat will be the least work. Two kittens will keep each other entertained should you go to work for long hours, are hard work but bloody cute. And once you fall for the stupid big ears and big eyes, you're stuck with 'em.
Is this issue stlll open? I failed the verification process to change my email address, (Which is being closed and subject to lockouts). It didn't detect my IP address, even though when I logged back in, it informed me that the IP address I attempted to change my email address in was the same. I passed every answer, aside from maybe the most recent password, but I would have put in an old password! Loads of answers I put in corectly were deemed incorrect. Please can you help?
15 is a great age for a cat, the usual age for a cat in the UK to die is 15 according to cats protection. My first cat almost made his 19th birthday and I let him go when his kidneys got too bad but I've had others die at 5 of heart disease and 2 die of tumours at 14. Lots of cats get grumpy with age too because of untreated ailments so if OP's cat is still cuddly at 15, he's been doing a good job.
When you start work you experience something dead annoying about birthdays. (At least if you're in the UK) I recall being quite outraged, but now, I quite enjoy it.
Anyway, you dont get given cake in work on your birthday. You are expected to bring cake in (IKR!) and for everyone!
With that in mind, I'ma send you a birthday gift so that you get a gift instead of having to give one.
I hope Ima is fully recovered. He is super cute. Ive found in cats that get neutered, they either go very pitiful and cuddly and sleepy, or they go wild in what I believe is an attempt to run off the anaesthetic.
