Torn is a parable of real life. Boomers don't want to relinquish control. Older players don't want the game to support new players, staying in control. The similarity extends into current real life market conditions. Retail stock traders find a way to make money against old boomer tactics? Change the rules and cripple the ability of the common person to earn. This is what Ched has done, by crippling reviving. It also goes against the basic entry point of the game in that you can be anything you like. Unless you're new. Then, you can just go die.
Revive factions will no longer be a thing that exist. I happen to rather like the group of people I am currently with, in a revive faction. I would prefer to continue to enjoy what I already do. I feel like most things Ched and Co come up with, this has very little thought which was put into the common man's experience in Torn. There is no concentrated effort to make things bearable, simply more unbearable. War changes, wall energy requirements, a ridiculous grind for reviving skill which essentially is an energy sink no one will want to participate in.
What can you do immediately as a common man? Unsubscribe. Take away their guaranteed income. Hit them in their balance sheet. I've already unsubscribed for other reasons that are my own. This would have been another catalyst in keeping my cash out of the hands of people who don't use it properly.
