I didn't like this game for the first 6 months. I didn't care. It didn't seem like a good investment. I love gaming but this one....(*rolls eyes)
I have played Resources since 2015. I loved Ingress (2013- before Niantic wrecked the game). I didn't see the value in console/text games. I love walking. I didn't want to sit and play. I love GPS.
I also tried to play the game with a real world moral code. Huge mistake but a good experiment. I started studying theology the same time I joined here. I had huge conflicts with doing drugs and crimes. I didn't want to beat up other players. I never did missions past the second, I never trained in the gym. I spent my time in church or at the dump. I was there to help a friend get stats and I was ok with it.
What changed is talking to other players. In Torn and offline.
It is ok to hit other players. It is.
Most of my church friends are gamers. Or their kids are. It's not that bad.
Slowly I started doing missions and other things. I worked my way up to a ranch and a company without spending any real world money. That is still cool to me.
What really changed was the pandemic. I am so grateful for this game. I think I would have gone crazy without it.
There was no chance to do GPS gaming the same way I was. I am still in restrictions limbo with my work. I was doing online security/mediation work for a church and this game became a way to deal with anger management.
I don't understand God but I think I get a pass on being naughty in Torn.
There were no pubs open, no sports and the stupid arrows in the stores nobody follows. I have an amazing community here and I love the players. I have never felt alone. I can do stupid things like hit people with ice skates or snowballs.
I was able to spend extra on the game. It is worth the investment of time and money. It is cheaper than hiring a therapist and way more rewarding. Try to get one on zoom? Good luck.
This is a brilliant game. Beautifully designed. The more I play the more I appreciate it.
I love I can play this game as a woman. It is so rare to play a video game and not have that matter. I can't wait to see where the next years take me.
Thank you for this game. I would say sorry for having doubts but everyone knows Canadians say sorry for everything eh
When I go to the arcade I don't expect to leave with my quarters, I do expect to have entertainment. I expect to get value of my time.
If people can harass me and waste my time then I don't need to spend more quarters.
If I could pay to never deal with bounties again I would continue to pay. I don't regret spending my quarters here, it's a cool game.
I refuse for other players to waste my time. The way the system you might as well take your money and set it on fire. It's a better value in the long run.
I started liking this game and spending money on extras because I can play as a woman and not have it matters.
Imagine it is a cosmopolitan review on lip gloss but a video game.
I don't have real world friends interested. Boys or girls. Should I take my money as a gamer to a different game.
So far I am still on the fence. I don't mind losing what I put in now time or money but if guys expect they can degrade me I'm not doing it, warning other women to not play and my friends to get stuffed because they told me so.
If I wasn't worried about young people I would have deleted my account weeks ago.
Guys don't have the right to groom underage girls. This needs to be addressed.
And if I am spending the next year having my time wasted on bounties it is a bad investment. If this is the game mechanics it isn't worth spending money on. Not on toxic people like in this thread.
I don't want a non bounty status because I am a woman. Adults vote with their dollars because our time is worth something.
I have never seen a gaming community behave like this.

Maybe they should have a minimum price of $2mil. How about $5mil.
Make it worth my while. It's fun to use a a prank with friends but if people want to bully me out of the game and use them like that they are only hurting themselves in the long run.
I have a big list of real world friends who will not play this game. Even in a pandemic when they watched Netflix the third time they will not play. I see why they weren't interested in playing. Scroll up. People speak for themselves as players.
I see good people in this post that make this game worthwhile. I also see a very toxic community I don't want to spend quarters on.
