Brandon Sanderson finished the Wheel of Time series! He is a big fan of Robert Jordan's work and I think Robert Jordan's wife was the one who asked Brandon to finish the series.
Brandon has written alot of his own stuff too-- He just recently released the fourth book of the Stormlight Archive which is a series I super recommend.
