It saddens me greatly to announce the passing of a dear friend to many here in Torn, Kelfi. Her two year battle with Lung Cancer is over and she is at peace.
From the time Kelfi first landed in town six and a half years ago, she knew she'd found a new home, and straight away started making friends and learning everything she could about how to survive and prosper. Her passion for the game was all-consuming and she found great joy in sharing both her knowledge and her wealth with everyone who shared in it.
When it came to Chaining or Warring, Kelfi was always at the forefront, not only racking up high scores, but sending her faction mates FHC's and Energy Drinks to keep them in the fight. Faction was always Family to her.
Her generosity extended well beyond her chosen Family. Kelfi has financed more than one random player a spare Billion, just because they "approached me and asked nicely". To my knowledge, every beneficiary of these loans actually paid her back, some with continuing interest. Her cheerful, positive nature, and her ability to focus on the good in people won the hearts and loyalty of many here. She will be sadly missed.
Kelf was born in Australia in 1959, grew up in New Zealand before returning to Australia in her late teens. She has always loved animals and worked for many years as a relief milker in dairies around the local area. Her gentle nature with the cows resulted in considerably large yields, so Kelf found herself to be very popular, and never without work.
Kelfi is survived by her two beloved Greyhounds, two goats and a community of friends who will feel her absence and remember the wonderful times to the end of our days.
As an Extended Council member of IMotF, I would like to publicly acknowledge your assistance in keeping our O.C.'s on track. I thank you for that and the massive amount of respect you have garnered for the family. I have never once felt anything but helpful vibes from you, despite what JD (aka Jackruby101, for anyone who may have encountered her toxic manipulations a while back) says on the matter. Stay strong, your family stands behind you, as do, it seems much of the beautiful Torn community.
"I've heard that once in primary school They had Opposite Day Where what you said and what you meant Both went two different ways So if you liked someone, you said 'I think you really suck' And then said, "On Opposite Day!" That meant they were in luck But imagine if this happened Not just in primary school And everywhere and everyone Followed this kiddie rule Imagine an opposite world Though it is hard to do Newspapers for illiterates Leaders say untruths The best people this world ignores While the brats it coddles Rockstars are seen as serious Also supermodels In this world, the actors Would be treated as if they're kings And ordinary folks would just be like Anonymous nothings" Opposite Day T.I.S.M.
Thanks to 3 separate IRL would be muggers, I have obtained a really cool Fairbairn Sykes knife, a (shitty, fake looking) replica handgun, a few hundred dollars, around 1/4 Oz of cannabis, three points of what my mate said was really good coke and some fond memories of snapping wrists and disfiguring faces. If you want to really fix mugging, allow the "victim" to loot weapons/cash from the mugger upon a loss.
In my first few years here, I was in a faction that would play "pass the keg" during long chains and Torn events. Many of us came to the conclusion that the keg capacity was totally dependent on the account of the drinker, not the keg itself. Not sure how much has been changed over the last 5 years but if the game is still played anywhere here, it would be great to hear how long a single keg has been kept in circulation.
I see gambling at Leslie's Casino as a daily expense. I go with $25m. If I win, well, great. If I lose, there is always tomorrow. I have learnt to never chase losses here in Torn.
24 hrs from expressing an interest in purchasing a specific asset, I found my wish fulfilled. Honest, fast and reliable. All that and a nice guy as well. I'd recommend every time.
When I'm out in public, I regularly wear an official "Torn" T-shirt, purchased from the Redbubble merchandising site. Not once in the 5 years I've had it, has someone approached me to engage in any conversation over the game.
Been hit a few times, enough to say I believe it's broken or weaponised. I don't participate much in events anymore as that seems to be a common trigger. It has become the new "reward" in what used to be a reward for effort based model with regard to events.
Racing seems to have no bearing on the O.C. position, in my experience. My spouse and I were doing comparisons last year, she always had a higher chance of success in the driving role with a RS of 34 (68) against my success chance with a R.S. of 54 (64). I'm not sure what does build Exp. for the Driver position, but I know it's not Racing.
lol. It was rumoured years ago that praying could help your chances of finding items in the city. If you find a real need for more spray paint, lead pipes, SFK's etc. Give it a go.
3 month old leader, 12 day old banker, what could possibly go wrong? Seems safe and legitimate. Where do I sign up for the gains and safe place to stash my cash?
