I have no idea how scripts work, so I'll ask this. A few days ago i was mugged within a mil-second after I left the poker table. I asked the guy how he did that and he told me its a simple attack script. Is that illegal or not?

I wasnt sitting out. I left while playing for a few good hours, but I was actively playing up to that point.
Amen to that. Tbh i dont really care about my money and secondly i always had the time since it takes me 2 seconds to switch to faction page and stash in bank. Thats why this attack particularly made me suspicious enough to ask the guy himself.
The attack was initiated as soon as I pressed leave and once the attack starts it wont let you stash your cash
He needed a couple of hits before he downed me and he didn't press the "mug" button immediately. Could had been an auto attack script and je only had to press the mug button himself. From what I gather the log takes the seconds the attack took and the time you pressed the mug button into consideration.

The exact moment I left the table the screen turned gray. It couldn't had been more than a second. But the guy admitted on PM when I asked him that it was a script. If it is indeed a script, is it illegal? I ll go find the logs in the meantime.

Ched himself addressed the issue admitting that Chat 2.0 is as bad as it can be. So what was "explained repeatedly" was either bull or hugely overselling Chat 2.0 and hoping for solid updates solving its many issues, which could not be delivered. An ongoing poll shows more than 30% of people wanting to revert back so looks like my opinion is not so unpopular after all.
At least it was working. And it was better looking.

I've said it before and I have to reconfirm my thoughts. I am a relatively new player, closing in on 2 years (yes I feel new compared to many) and I get the feeling that Torn is heading more and more towards an "elitist" kind of game. Like many others mentioned, old active players can feel relatively safe from most muggers since they can't mug them due to stat difference and obvious experience difference, while newer players will keep struggling and live in fear of buy-mugging and land-mugging. The "hardcore" elements of the game that Ched would like to enforce more and more obviously favor the older, way stronger players. And the thing is, you can't really catch up. Even if you train more and keep chugging those drugs, a 2 year old player cant catch up to a 10 year old player. Ever. Unless the latter stops playing and you dedicate a couple more years of your life catching up. I mean, I like the idea that there is no "endgame" regarding equipment and training, but that also means that the older you are the more benefits you have if you play the game as "intended", and any one new that manages to grab a few good items to sell or tries to invest in Caymans banking system will get rekt most of the time. Even a simple safety feature like using the vault while in hosp was removed. I get what Ched feels like, life is unfair so why Torn should be fairer? but at the end of the day it is just another game, and you play a game to have fun, not to get butt wrecked on every turn. Especially from people abusing certain tools. Otherwise make cheating legal and let the best cheater win.
Torn Fact : Unknown to many players (evidently) Torn lotteries are given away via cashier's checks, making mugging the winner (as soon as he wins) redundant.
Nearing 2 years on this game and I believe what it needs is a silver lining. You want a game that has all the casual aspects you mentioned, fast, fun and entertaining for the newer players but rewarding in the longer run.
After some time playing I felt like this is an "elitist" game, with people being around the longest having amassed greater power in many terms. I mean, I don't expect to reach BB in a couple of months, but also knowing that I'll never catch up no matter how dedicated I am is kind of discouraging now isn't it? xD
So yeah I voted for casual since I believe that the "tweaking" needed must be done in that area, since the game already feels slow and hardcore in some ways.
